I don't mind living with non Muslim people, and in Islam they teach their people to live in tolerant with different believe, but i cannot live with people who ask Muslim people doing forbidden thing (like force muslim people to eat pork, drinking alcohol, or let their muslim children influenced by free sex and same gender marriage or even worse forbid the woman wearing hijab (exception for burka )).

I completely agree. If you live in a free western country like the Netherlands, you'll have to accept it's cultures. Otherwise move to another country.

i have a couple muslim friends here in america and i assure you they enjoy their freedoms and are respectful of other cultures. it is not right to generalize all of muslims like that.

..but it can be fuck hard not to think it sometimes when you see yet another act of senseless violence against women or westerners or anyone with the audacity to live free and not under the repression of a militant muslim rule every single fucking day.

What i mean  "forcing " is more about soft influencing. Even in Islam we are not adopted  "freedom of Individuality ", we have our freedom to live, to pray, to speak, to teach, to love, but restricted under syariah law  " for Muslim ".

you know i read the thread title but i didn't digest that bit well enough.  well good for him.  i wish more leaders in the muslim community would be more vocal about how islam isn't actually a religion of violence.  the extremists taint the image of their entire community.

will he also tell that to the american military personal who drone other countries especially Muslim countries  stationed in his country?

what a luck he is a muslim, because if not he now would be racist (despite the fact racism has nothing to do with religion, but who cares about that).

No one forces these things on Muslim people in Western countries. Exception being wearing a hijab in public schools in France. But that's for all religious symbols including Christian ones and they do (did?) the same in Turkey.

If you think they shouldn't have a "soft influence" by the surrounding culture, then they shouldn't be in that culture to begin with. That's like me going to Iran and expecting to have booze readily available because I don't need soft influence.

Anyone can profess whatever religion they like. But killing people is not justifiable and this mayor is 100% correct.

One of my best friends is Afghan/British. He's disgusted by these actions and hates the Taliban. He's a wonderful human being and feels grateful to have lived his life in the UK. We have no problems with people like that (bar some stupid assholes). Every time he comes over I'm careful to serve him things he can eat. He makes no mention of his religion and has zero negativity towards me and my friends, who are mostly atheist.

This is all good. Terrorists can fuck off.
