Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I might just have to buy Bayonetta 2

I'm still concerned that Bayonetta 2 might be a bit repetitive but I just played the demo.

i liked it

It was extremely hectic and I didn't understand what was happening but somehow I enjoyed it. I'm just not sure if I should buy it because once I beat it, it's done. Not only that but I am trying to limit my game purchases and only want around 10 retail games for my Wii U. I already have 3. not sure if it deserves a spot but I'm leaning towards yes.

You should buy it. The whole game is as hectic as the demo. Easily one of my favorite games on the console.

Does it get repetitive though? (like most beat em ups) (be honest)

Buy it. Its well worth the price tag with the first included. I just finished it and enjoyed playing it every second. Its not as repetitve as other fighters as they continue to change the enemy types and frequent bosses change up the formula. Weapons also change the playstyle greatly.

EDIT: It has a progress ranking system for each level too so even when you beat the main story (10ish hours?) you can go back and aim for higher ranks.

Well Sound, if you really have other stuff to play for a while, don't buy the game until it prices drops. But if you somehow enjoy it and want to see a sequel, get it now while sales still relevant.

Sincerely, you will beat it two times at least, but after that probably won't be coming back, it's not really MK8 or Smash Bros replay value, but you probably know it already.

By your rule of 10 retail games, yeah buy it.

Go ahead and buy it! You won't regret it.

Technically, the game is inherently repetitive since all beat em ups are, but I was never bored with it. I never thought "Man, I'm tired of taking down all these enemies constantly" because it always feels fresh through new combos, weapons, enemy/enviornment variety, etc.

And this is coming from someone who's not the biggest fan of these types of games.

Its a blast. I have tons of hours logged into it trying to get all the weapons and the like. Spent a lot of time on tag climax too. Its a blast. I'm learning new ways to fight all the time. Just the other day I learned how to beat the crap out of most enemies using chain saw boots.

If you can buy all the weapons, costumes, abilities, and Pure Platinum every trophy on its hardest setting on your first playthough, you'll have to record it. You will be the first person in history to do it. If you're not a completionist, the online should also be enough for you to come back to the game several times.
