Forums - General Discussion - need help understanding these TV services?

I don't understand how these T.V. services work. I'm talking about chromecast, amazon fire T.v. stick, apple T.V.; basically those kind of services. Cox cable is just becoming so expensive, man! I'm paying $151 a month just for basic cable and  middle of the road internet. They won't let me cancel my cable and keep my internet, which is stupid. Do I need an internet connection for these t.V. services? do they all just plug into your T.V.? Is it really just that easy? AT&T is my only other option as far as internet provider's go. If these T.V. stick servies offer a decent amount of variety, then I'm seriously considering switching to At&T. There internet speed is'nt nearly as fast, but it doesn't have to be. It just has to be fast enough. Any help what be appreciated and thanks in advance!

Around the Network

Must have good internet.

As far as which one, the # 1 rated is Roku.

I have an Apple TV and built in services on my TV. I was thinking of adding a Fire Tv to my bedroom. It will access both Amazon TV and Netflix and Hulu. Those are the 3 biggest services.

If you have a console, you don't need to buy any of these, as these are apps on your console already...

It is near the end of the end....

i don't have any opinion on those services as i use consoles for access to netflix which is the only service i use.

$50 for middle of the road internet from ATT and $8 for netflix.

fuck comcast and all other cable providers. i hope sony's vue does at least somewhat successful if for no other reason than to make cable providers scared they finally have some competition and perhaps give a fair price for once.
