Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Wii U drought 2K15, who is to blame this year?

Sorry I'm too busy catching up on the great Wii U games from the last 2 years to be busy worrying about what games I don't have to add to my endless backlog. I will enjoy the break from brand new things!

Okay, but why someone who isn't a nintendo fan/gamer is asking and cares about it?Along with this fact and the attidute of the op,the thread is suspect for me...

No one is to blame as there are more big titles releasing this year than in 2013 or 2014, most with no release date. So I blame Train wreck for creating a thread that is a bit premature.

Draught talk already when we aren't even halfway through January?

You are in serious need of help if you need a new game every week in order to stay satisfied.

*raises pitch fork* Fire Iwata!!

On a lighter and more serious note, let's wait for the inevitable emergency Nintendo Dairekuto

Kirby comes out soon. Yoshi is also listed on the eShop as "coming soon", and they typically don't list games prominently in the shop like that unless they actually are coming out fairly soon. I also get the feeling that Mario Maker will be a Q1 title, but we'll have to see.

Xenoblade is close to finished, as is Devil's Third, and I would imagine Mario Party is as well. Point being, I think we'll see a decent number of retail releases before summer hits. I don't think we're going to have the "drought" that OP imagines.

Plus there's tons of shit coming on eShop regardless.

Their is likely to be a Nintendo Direct later this month along with their quarterly fiscal report. Either of these events could give us release dates for upcoming titles.

Currently there are a few titles with tentative first half of 2015 dates like Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Maker and Splatoon, plus the developers of Devil's Third recently said the game is close to being done. I would wait until the end of the month before saying their is a drought.

4 games for the first half of the wiiU's 3rd year is not acceptable.  The system should have more games than you can possibly play not a total number you can easily play.  How many retail wiiU games released in 2014 in America?  Give me a rough idea...

I was on the eShop yesterday and they also had Mario Party 10 under that section. I believe that will be coming sooner than we think.

There's really NO reason there should be a drought this year. There's no excuse. If there is then there is no to blame but Nintendo for their crappy scheduling

Pretty sure the same thing was said last year.

Ehh we have like 10 confirmed titles for this year, we didnt really have that last year. Thats why there's no excuse for long droughts this time
