Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Wii U drought 2K15, who is to blame this year?

Their is likely to be a Nintendo Direct later this month along with their quarterly fiscal report. Either of these events could give us release dates for upcoming titles.

Currently there are a few titles with tentative first half of 2015 dates like Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Maker and Splatoon, plus the developers of Devil's Third recently said the game is close to being done. I would wait until the end of the month before saying their is a drought.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Captain toad just launched in Europe and Aus/nzl. Kirby and the rainbow curse is already set in stone.

I'm confident that Yoshi Woolly World, Mario Party 10, Mario Vs Donkey Kong and Devil Third will arrive during the first half. Plus, Mario Maker and Splatoon a possibility.

It's not as bad as 2014, with Donkey Kong being the only title available for the majority of the first half.

2nd half will have Starfox, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X and perhaps Animal Crossing U. I believe it will be a good year for Wii U gamer's.

I can't speak for everyone but I personally blame Obama.

It's Nintendo's fault. As always. And I'm not being sarcastic.

Nintendo, mainly. 2014 was DISASTROUS as far as 3rd party support went, and it doesn't look like 2015 will be any better. Watch Dogs sales on wii u were worse than what Ubisoft could've ever imagined and every other 3rd party company must've noticed that, late release or not.

Ubisoft was already expecting dreadful sales for Watch Dogs.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

There's really NO reason there should be a drought this year. There's no excuse. If there is then there is no to blame but Nintendo for their crappy scheduling

Pretty sure the same thing was said last year.

Nintendo has 10 games announced for this year (11 if you include project cars) and this is assuming we don't get localizations for fatal frame, pokken, rodea sky soldier or an unannounced game. If the Wii u has a major drought this year then the guy that plans Nintendo's release schedule needs to be slapped

Since when has the first quarter been a big one for game releases?

Not to jump on the Wii U hate train but Q1 actually looks pretty strong for the XBone & esspecially PS4

This actually is typically the case. Q1 has always been quite good for everyone but Nintendo

I don't know, but I'm glad someone's finally bringing it up.
