Forums - Gaming Discussion - What price would you pay for a new game in your favourite franchise?

Shenmue III
Consoles: Wii U and/or PS4
Yu Suzuki along with his original team of SEGA AM2 in charge

Give me that, and I'll give the publisher (probably Sega in this case) 150€.

$100 for a new, true Paper Mario like TTYD, or for a Roller Coaster Tycoon with the controls of the first one, the features of the second one, and the "ride your roller coaster" option of the third one.

no more than 1000 DKK. (around 150$)..

Some special editions on games are running a pricetag on around that here already though

This is just for fun and completeley fictional but what price would you be willing to pay to guarantee a new entry in one of your favourite franchises. If someone could guarantee a new 3d  Metroid game on wii u but said it will cost you 300 pounds ($480) then i would have no qualms in handing over the cash, for a new f-zero then i'd probably go as high as 200 pound ($320) and the same for a skies of arcadia 2 and shenmue 3. What about you, how much does your favourite series mean to you and how high would you go? Is there anyone one out there who would pay crazy money.                                                                                                                                                                                             Edit: This is more about how much you would pay for a non existant game to get made like Super mario sunshine 2, twilight princess 2 or half life 3.

I would pay $500 to play zelda wii u earlier than everyone.

60 dollars can't justify the development of Pikmin 4.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

$100 for Mega man Legends 3. And $100 for an hd remake of pokemon gen 1 (provided all the pokemon in a single edition with the possibility of porting them off my OG game boy carts.

Kickin' Those Games Old School.       -       201 Beaten Games And Counting

I'd be willing to shell out $100 just for a new mainline Final Fantasy installment or a Fallout ...

Well, I haven't spent more than $10 on a game in the past year. So idk... Like $15?

$60

45-50 euros (that is full PC games price with just a small discount applied, as it often happens at Media World) if very good or excellent, 20-30 euros if good, bargain bin price if average orr meh or too bugged to be enjoyable at launch.
But having a huge backlog (Thief 3 DRM before I got the DRM free GOG version horribly messed up CD and DVD drivers on Win XP, then HW upgrades made XP unreliable until I upgraded it to Win 7, and in the meantime I could only reliably run Linux on the desktop, so for many months I could play Windows games only if within the capabilities of my old laptop and only last Spring I solved every problem on the desktop, so my backlog grew horribly), I end up buying most games when they are already in budget edition, except The Witcher 1 and 2, the only ones that I bought almost full-priced in the last years.
