Forums - Politics Discussion - Should the world blame America for all these terrorist attacks?

At some point we must try to sit at a table and make some deals to stop the killing. However fanatics are fanatics. This is why I'm atheist because people become drunk on religion and can't handle it.

You are atheist because of what other people do/think? Ok then..... Original at least

Heck no! Blame Canada...blame Canada..

I think I'll just blame terrorists for being terrorists.

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

Well... the CIA does train... and put a lot of them in Power... they still train people who do terrorism and supply them with weapons so they may not be reason for all the terrorist attacks but they are sure responsible for some at least to some extent. Heck, Bin Ladin was in power thanks to the US.

This thread has quickly become "blame da relegunz cuz der so evol" thread. Most of it not relating to the topic v.v why cant internet atheists be as mature as regular ones? v.v

*tips fedora*

I have never seen a single group that when given the anonymity of the internet did not, on average, decreased in mature conduct.

I wouls also like to point out that saying "blame da relegunz cuz der so evol" shows your own lack of maturity and hypocrisy.

This may get me moderated and/or hated for discrimination, but I think it's naive to believe that this is just fanaticism and doesn't reflect a problem within Islam.

You don't see mass shootings over cartoons of Buddha, Jesus, or Vishnu.

Of course, not all Muslims are to blame, plenty are peace loving and denounce terrorism, but it's not a coincidence that this one particular religion is the source of so many acts of terrorism.
Islam in its... let's call it "old testament" form is simply incompatible with a modern Western society.

This thread has been terribly fun to read, but also disheartening to see misplaced blame everywhere on such a complex topic. Blaming religion or countries so broadly in this topic is too simple and to be frank, misjudged, short sighted, and bigoted. This has become a place for people to lash out hate instead of engaging in discussion and debate.

Islam and people taking it seriously is the problem. Islam is currently undergoing it's own dark age and the only reformation they underwent was to become more fundamentalist so I don't see them getting better anytime soon.

And I know that Islam condemns death on one hand but absolves it on the other.

I don't think so to be honest.

I believe recent events show very clearly that other than Islam and people taking it seriously they would not have happened.

After 9/11 and some would say before, America became what some would call "World Police". Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and rumors of war and little skirmishes around the rest of the world.

We have made Terrorist, despite what they say in videos and other propaganda, afraid of the United States. So what do they do? They attack our friends and neighboring countries so that they can still get their point across, but stay away from our Wrath. The only problem is that every  other country suffers. Sure, America is safe, but what about our allies who have to bear the brunt of terrorism for us?

I just think the World would have been better off without America policing it.

What are you thoughts?

No, not really. Yes, America shares some of the blame, but terrorism, particularly from the Middle East has been a problem for decades. If you really want to trace all the problems going on over there back to one incident, you really could blame France and the UK for their handling of the Middle East after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire at the conclusion of World War I. First, they completely fucked up when redrawing the map for the Middle East. If you wonder why Iraq has so many faction problems, it's because some morons decided it was a good idea to create a small country that consisted of Shites, Kurds, Sunnis, jews, and Christians and that they would just get along. Then instead of letting these countries be free, they were treated like colonies for a few decades. It's no surprise that many in the Middle East were actually pro-Nazi during the second world war even by Nazi standards, they were considered the inferior race

Also, while I support the existence of Israel, the way the British handled the creation of that state was so ass backwards that the ramifications from that incident are still felt to this day. Also, the United States and the UK fucked up by assisting in the overthrow of Iran's democratically elected government in the 1950's. Iran would probably be a much better place today had that not happened. I can't leave the Russians out of these either. After all, the Middle East was treated like a chessboard during the Cold War. Remember Afghanistan? They were doing good for a while. If you were to look at pictures of Aghanistan from the mid 20th century, they were prospering. The women over there looked a lot like American women from the 1950's and 60's. Then there was the Soviet Unions invasion of Afghanistan. After that failed, the Taliban took over the weak nation and oppressed them and then the United States threw the Taliban out of power in a war that lasted 13 years.

With all this aggression brought on by the Western powers throughout the 20th century, is it really a surprise to anyone that these attacks are the result of nearly a century of resentment? It isn't just America and their war on terror or whatever the fuck it is now. Much of the world is responsible. So I say, if you want peace in the Middle East and you want these attacks to stop, then leave them the fuck alone for a change.

People blaming religion doesn't realize that trail of thought and narrow minded thinking is the problem.

The fanatics that does this kind of sh!t thinks the same way, only the other way around.

“We want to laugh at the extremists — every extremist. They can be Muslim, Jewish, Catholic. Everyone can be religious, but extremist thoughts and acts we cannot accept.”
