As a fan of games I applaud the western devs and japanese devs for keeping my fave past time alive and fresh on my consoles of choice , however I have noted some strong points and wonder if some of you disagree

I feel japanese devs on a combo and battle system  excel much more than their western counterparts , and generally can produce better written characters and stories ( not saying plot but their story telling is better )

however western devs excel in freedom , choices, multiplayer , and graphical tech in general 

both have grindy as hell games , but i feel japanese games have more grind than western games 

Metal Gear Solid 5 and Persona 5 > all westgames

Yea I can see that! I do prefer jrpgs most of the time though unless a game like the witcher 3 comes out

Knights of the Old Republic > All japaneses RPG in existence.

I prefer Japanese games over Western, but I honestly feel Western games have come a long way while a lot of Japanese games seem to be stuck in the past. This comes down to the battle system, characters, and story. Most of which are pretty cliche and a lot of the stories (most notably like Tales) are very similiar in themes. They are obviously execptions, but I feel Western games are better than Japanese games when it comes to adapting to different ways to play. 

So my personal opinion is Japanese > Western
Objectively speaking I feel Western > Japanese

I will always prefer japenese games to western games, they generally always have better hit detection and animation and more interesting characters than western games and are more creative.
Look at the animation in sf4 to recent mk games, and is also why most western devs prefer to make fps rather than 3rd person games, generally their western devs animation on physical combat is downright awful.

Western devs often feel too much like they are making their games from a checklist with no creativity.

Outside of Metal Gear(which is not represent of Japaneese Gaming its heavily influenced by Hollywood movies) and Street Fighter(which is universal ) i dont think there any good japaneese games at all.
Yes FF7 and FFX was good probably FFXV too.KingdomHearts is not japaneese franchise at all.So thats it.

I prefer Japanese games a bit more... A lot of the games I enjoyed the most in the last few years were Japanese... Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy, Resident Evil and Tales of Graces F. Also more then half the games I'm most excited for in 2015/2016 are Japanese... FF Type-0, FF XV, KH3, Bloodborne, Persona 5, Disgaea 5 and Resident Evil Revalation 2.

PlatinumGames has been probably my pefered developer for a while, I just loved Metal Gear Rising, The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 (especially this one), out of their most recent titles.
