When I heard about this film I was so excited, then I heard it was Carol not Mar-Vell, I was insulted.

... oh Katee Sackhoff should be fine I guess.

Why insulted? Finally there will be a top tier avenger who doesn't have a penis.

Marvel fanboy. There are big issues I have like I'm insulted there are no mutants in the MCU, mutants define Marvel comics, without them it just doesn't feel right. I also I didn't like the fact the Infinity Stones were called stones and not gems (rather pathetics small thing this one but dang it, 'tis what fanboys do).

Avenger's have had their fair share of females in powerful roles, Wasp being a founding member. Monica Rambeau and Tigra being a great examples. Black Widow is a weak female character to have in my personal view but she is marketable (lack of russian accent aside obviously).

Hmm, pie.

Yes, it's like she's only in the films for sexual tension, to distract Chris Evans, and because catsuits. I can't even remember what "important role" Scarlett Johansson was supposed to have in Winter Soldier... And I don't remember her present in the Avengers even though she was.

Several people in the MCU have been Captain Marvel, including an alien named Mar-Vel once.

Currently, Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers, the former Miss Marvel.

Ms. Marvel. She hates being called that :P.

Yeah, but that doesn't explain why you are insulted that Carol Danvers will be Capt Marvel, because she IS Capt Marvel in the MU. Disappointed, sure, but insulted doesn't make sense. I like that one of the most powerful of all Avengers is going to be a woman.

Also while not being called X-men because of movie rights conflicts, we do have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver coming on board from the X-men.

Okay, insulted is the wrong word maybe, sure. She is only just Captain Marvel, you know who Captain Marvel is to me? Mar-Vell, then Monica, then Genis-Vell. Carol is Ms. Marvel or Warbird.

She-hulk, even better example of a strong powerful female Avenger, she is far more traditional Avenger than Hulk could even be as she has been one for far longer and proven her worth.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver aren't X-men, they are mutants. It's the term mutant. Mutant is the Marvel Universe as far as I am concerned, it is what separates Marvel from all other comics, it's the fact there are just humans who have powers, it makes them easy to explain why they have the power and helped in establish numerous characters in the world that weren't just copies of already existing characters (aka DCs problem).

... so anyway, blah balh, I'm bitter. :P

Honestly, if Carol was still Ms. Marvel. The movie would of probably been called that. They just didn't want to confuse people with the curent running series. And also boost her comic sales. The same worry would of happend with Mar-Vell, photon, or whoever else too. That's my reasoning why they did it this way. I also want She-Hulk used. But that's the issue with the Hulk movies being pushed aside. I know the only place they'll introduce her is with a Hulk movie. Because with Avengers. Having both is redundant. And probably a cost issue. Since Hulk had low screen time. Since he was CGI. She-Hulk is more money. Since she can stay in that state, every shot in the film would be an effect. Plus, I would like an actual correct origin story moment.

Your post confuses me, you are a fan of the Marvel Comics Universe but you don't know who 3 of their most famous characters are? I hate the DCU but I still know who Mr Terrific is.

Their most famous characters are Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk.

Hulk is nowhere near the most popular. He's long lasting but, not that famous. He averages 34,000 issues per month. VS Spider-Man is going for 180,000. Granted, it depends on the writers who do them. But Spider-Man consistantly gets top teirs. Not to mention in 50 years, Hulk has only had 4 cartoon series. Spider-Man's got what 10? 11 if you want to count Spider-Woman.

Your first point is valid. Yet, if you've been reading Avengers recently, it doesn't represent the films in anyway. Cannonball and Sunspot as members, hell even Superman was (:P) and it was set in space. (ignoring how bad it was).

Black Widow is not a Ironman character yet she was introduced and established in #2 before Avengers. So She-hulks introduction wouldn't be too hard and I don't think many would object to being introduced in the films. Or at least as Jennifer only. She-hulk does not have to be CG only, a tall powerful woman can fill the role but I get your point. Plus a definite on the last point.
