Within 5 weeks the third installment of the LBP franchise on consoles has reached 1 million in sales combined (PS4+PS3). The PS4 version is tracking similar with LBP2 on PS3. Combining both the PS4 and PS3 version LBP3 is the fastest selling game in the franchise. 

It will be interesting to see how far this can get as these games always sell well throughout the years. 

Updated: Current statistics aligned with the previous main installments showing impressive PS4 numbers compared with installbase and tracking ahead combined with around 280k

LBP2 has a bigger launch then LBP1 but ended selling less so too early to judge



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I don't know about being the best selling lifetime but it's a big success. It beat the rival exclusives it was up against easily. Ps4 will be a million seller on its own soon

I wouldn't be surprised if this is being massively overestimated. I don't recall seeing the game in the UK top 40, nor in the top 5 in France or Germany for long enough to make up for that. The game only sold 100k in its first couple weeks in the US and it hasn't appeared in Amazon top 100 in December nor January to hint at it making up the 180k
