Is a good PC, you're going to play better TW3 than on any console ;) (ps4, xbone... 20fps... less than full HD)

34 years playing games.

Thanks for the advice !
On my current build, I used a SSD for steam and it was just an absolute blast in termes of loading times and install, making a better overall experience.

Anyway I'll have another look at my build then. Thx !

Well, that PC would certainly run it like cray cray but imo, it would be better if you were to wait a little longer before buying a new PC. The 8gb version of the 970/980 series should be released this year, DDR4 should also be released this year and granted the difference isn't zomfg compared to DDR3 but for future upgradability purposes, I highly recommend waiting for DDR4. And USB 3.1 should also be released this year and it has twice the throughput as USB 3.0!

So it would be really great if you could wait just a little longer for even more of a kickass PC

Sorry, but that's just nonsensical. Not only is DDR4 currently a bad idea since it's actually slower than DDR3 in some scenarios it will literally not make a difference at all. I also don't know what you would achieve with 8GB of VRAM on a single gpu. By the time 4GB aren't enough anymore it's time for a new GPU anyway.

The money saved by not getting DDR4 and overpriced GPUs could be put to better use in an upgrade from 970 to 980 which will actually make a big difference.

In 4K the 8GB version of the 290X beat the 4GB version by ~30% in some games.  It breezed right past the 980 in those benchmarks as well.  So already some games utilize 8GB.

No single GPU is currently strong enough to do 4k properly, especially not for current games. High RAM cards are exclusively for SLI/CF setups.

Not at all true.  Just turn down a few settings and you are fine.  Hell my 7970 can do 4k alright.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

We are talking about 8th gen titles. 7th gen titles aren't usually a problem. For 4K, you won't do it for most 8th gen games with that GPU. Unless a "few" equals "low" or "medium".

I would prefer I7 4770K, no SSD and get second 970 instead. But it still would cost some extra money though.

I would not bother with the 500GB SSD, still too expensive. I'd also say that you can probably go for a high end i5 rather than i7 without any issues at all

But I reckon that build will be able to run the Witcher 3 with no issue. My 670 ran the Witcher 2 at 60fps with everything at max (other than ubersampling ) in 1080p

If you want 4k, you're going to need another 4 of everything put together...

Not really true.  Most things can be left on high or ultra but a few bandwidth sensitive things have to be turned down or off.  Like no AA, and lower post-processing.

You won't run Unity, Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor, Evil Within and many other with that res and that configs with your GPU, pal.

I have same i7-4790k 16gig 1833 ram with sli gtx 970's

it destroys everything.

Dont bother with the 500gig SSD, not worth the few seconds you save.. save money, buy second 970 for if you wana jump to 4k

Wrong.  Most things are on Ultra:

EDIT:  He is even using "FULL 4K" which is higher than 3840x2160.
