Yes, as well as Battlefield 4 and COD Advanced Warfare (Well I borrowed Battlefield 4, I don't on that.)
The amount of lag is pretty much the same compared with other fighting games. Only problem is that you can't see the connection strength of your opponent beforehand like you could in MvC3 and other games.
For me that pretty much only really happens with 3+ players, and simply quitting and joining a different group solves the issue.
Yeah, its a mixed bag for me. Against other Australian it plays beautifully, however, against the Japanese it can get unbearable.
In my experience, it runs a little better than Tekken 6, Tekken Tag Tournament and Soul Calibur. I can't compare it against Street fighter because I never got the confidence to verse other people.

this. playing injustice and tekken tag 2 (another bandai namco title) on wii u leads to even worse lag in some cases than i've experienced with smash... it's dependent on the others' connection speed and if someone's connection isn't the best everyone suffers. i have been lucky enough to have very little lag, more on the 3ds than on the wii u by far.
plus to the person that said this is like call of duty/battlefield, it's actually better, because both of those games had their own set of online problems completely unrelated to connectivity problems.
If you have lag in almost every match, the problem is your internet, not a game itself.
