Forums - Movies & TV - Whose better Spider-Man or Batman?

It depends to me. One on one, bare handed, in closed space, Spiderman DESTROY Batman and drink his blood.

In a big city where the objective is to find the other one, trap him ect... Batman would win since he is smarter than Spiderman.

Bare handed in open space, with any gadjet you want... Close one, but Spiderman would take it. Spiderman is faster, better reflexes, and much more powerful. One punch from Spiderman at full power and Batman is dead.

Spiderman.

As a character, he was revolutionary.  Peter Parker was far from perfect, which broke away from borderline infallible heroes like Batman and Superman.  Spiderman told jokes, he got his ass beat, he made huge mistakes, and he struggled to make a living while juggling his personal life with the adventures of his alter-ego.  He didn't like superhero teams and he wasn't afraid to mock the "serious" types.  His life was cluttered, complicated, and realistic (kinda).

What made Spiderman for me, what really, honestly made me a fan was the two issues where he fought the Juggernaut.  Well, I say "fought", but it was really him just trying to stop the Juggernaut, cause he knew he couldn't actually BEAT the Juggernaut.  It was such an atypical hero fight.  Spiderman was getting completely creamed but he just would not give up, even though he really had no reason to fight.  As someone who hated the "overdog" type of comic, where the hero SHOULD win, it really captured my interest.

The issue when ever fans try to conceptualize a fight between two characters is they ignore the biggest variable, the writer.  I mean Batman once beat freaking Superman in a fight, which 99% of the time would end in two seconds and one hit for Superman.

Personally I never cared for how "strong" a comic character was, it was more about how much I enjoyed reading their stories.  Why normal person with gadgets can be on equal footing with a demigod.

It's funny to me because Batman has always been one of the more boring sounding and less interesting of all the comic book super heroes.

His movies, games, and TV shows though have always been better overall then any other comic hero by far. I don't think any other hero has been as consistently good in both games, movies, and tv shows as Batman. He's had his bad movies of course but overall no hero has matched his body of work, Spiderman might be the closest I've seen.

Batman clearly, The Dark Knight is my favourite movie and I just like the darker tone to him than spiderman.

He's my favourite "super" hero and him not having crazy powers is one reason for that. It makes him seem a little more vulnerable then say superman, ironman or thor who are basically gods.

Spider-man. Batman is all emo

I think a better comparison should be the battle of the Billionaires: Batman vs Iron Man (maybe add Lex Luthor for fun)

Some replies in this thread are so lol.  Look, if you go down a list called "Superpowers" and your list is blank, while your opponents has anything on it, you're going to lose.

I pick Spider-Man since he has a much better personality then Batman and that since he actually has real super powers unlike batman.

Edit: I've also picked Spider-man since Spider-Man 2: The video game at the time revolutionised the gaming industry or at least the Super hero related gaming industry. With many super hero games taking an open world approach rather than a level based approach.

Nope :P

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Batman isn't smarter than Spider-man.  He's probably etter at dectectivey stuff though.  If Spider-man didn't was like Batman and just really focussed his energies 100% on crimefighting, he'd probably be as good a strategist as Batman, but he doesn't.

Still, Spider-man's Spidersense neutralizes a lot of what Batman could due to trick him.  Stealth is Batman's best asset, and it won't work here.  Batman won't really be able to hit Spider-man, and if he did, it would take at least a few solid shots to make an impact, even with Bats matial arts skills.  Spider-man on the other hand can score a KO with one hit.

Point is in a fight, Spider-man would win basically any time any place.  Unless you did something particularly to stack the deck in Batman's favor, it's an easy fight.

As far as characters, I like Spider-man better.  Batman can be interesting with the right writer, but I just can't relate to him.  There's nothing about the character I could really understand or sympathize with.  Spider-man seems more real and relatable.  Like any comic character he's suffered some bad writing, but he's still a better character to me.
