Forums - Gaming Discussion - How much input lag is acceptable for gaming?

I'm currently looking for a tv for both gaming on my ps4 and regular movie watching. I would like it to be either Sony or Samsung, although I must confess I like more Samsung tvs because it seems to be they offer more for the same price and also because I own some old samsung tvs which never gave me any headaches.

Based on the size of my room, I think something near 40´ would be ideal tv size. I have found the model below, which looks pretty nice, has 3D support and nice smart tv features

but what worries me is that it has an input lag of 44ms, with game mode enabled.

I have seen places where people classify 44ms as different things: acceptable, good, bad, etc. and therefore I got confused.. So here are my two questions:

1) Is 44ms something people would really notice, even for fast online games like bf4?

2) How much setting game mode on disruptes the image quality? Do you guys usually play with game mode on?

Thanks!
