Forums - Sales Discussion - Microsoft's act of extreme desperation actually worked! Will it continue now?

Worldwide, PS4 will dominate, but I'm tired of living in Xbox country. Will Xbox retake America? What do you guys think?

You want a Japanese console to take control of America from an American console?

Commie.

I guess Pearl Harbor means nothing to him.

PS4 has yet to even reach its full potential or even a price drop. Everything will be fine, PS4 will dominate this entire gen.

I hope you are right friend. Thanks for the comment. I feel a bit less depressed now.

I am not a patriot. I am not proud of my country. I just live here. I would prefer to live in Europe. However, I am not a communist, and we are friendly with Japan now.

I am back. I left because of constantly being banned or having my blogs blocked. I hope this one is tame enough.

Actually, hoping for another console to sell bad is a bannable offense unless you have a bet running that is.

X1 could actually take US but it will not by a margin. Being on equal footing with MS is a big win for Sony. They're selling great there and matching X1's price would've been a very bad decision. What Sony needs more than diomination in every single market is money. They are able to make tons of money by not caving into arbitrary rivalries. They lead WW and I guess that is why they're currently pretty happy.

Well MS would do fine without Xbox. They are super rich.

well... to be honest PS consoles are like wine they only get better with time, since their exclusives take time to come out, weak launch title line ups are one of Playstations recurrent negative points, how many times did i heard "the PS3 has no games!" and now look at the PS3 its... a beast!, PS4 will be no different and since its more "succesful" than the PS3 it will get more games that said console in due time, as of now we just have to wait.

also i do have the hunch that Sony will do a price cut next holidays (or who knows maybe even sooner), i doubt they will just stand there doing nothing and let the X1 get all the attention at the end of the year, and for those who say Profist are more important than total consoles sold, i must say: yes you are right, but i expect the manufacturing cost of said consoles to have dropped enough for them to actually make a price cut at the end of this year.

What acts of desperation are you talking about? In the spring they introduced a kinectless SKU, having one for 499$ and one for 399$. Granted, a Kinectless SKU was never planned from the beginning but was probably a wise decision. The only price drop was this fall to 349$/449$. This is a tactic MS has used several times with the 360, so why so surprised?

I am quite sure Sony will dominate this generation but the best thing would be if they were matched or outperformed in some regions, because competition is something we as fans always benefit from.

PS2 dominated the 6th generation, and things were great. Big competition is not always needed. I prefer one console with nearly all the great games like PS2.

Neither is Japan. ;)

Like wine? I like that! I think that install base would make up for the lost profit on the console.

You get depressed about video games?
