Almost all the recent Wii U games have flopped.

Bayonetta is around 500k
Captain Toad has only sold like....50k Units? Less according to VGC.
Watch Dogs Wii U hasn't passed 10k according to VGC
Lego Batman 3 hasn't even passed 20k Units accroding to VGC.
And Sonic Boom.......

Yeah only title that seems to have not flopped recently is Super Smash U, and I'll be honest, Sales for Smash for Wii U could have been better.

Captain Toad is t 200k Units by 13th Dec. Is going to be around 350k by the end of the yer and it was realeased on 2nd Jan on Europe so maybe it can even reach 0.5m on Jan, that´s not bad at all for such a little game, and is going to have legs, expect 1 m lifetime, and probably more.

Bayonetta has NOT being a flop, Nintendo and Platinum didn´t expect this to be a boom, the first one was a niche game that only sold 1 million per console, and ps3 + Xbox360 has 160m userbase, 2m with 160m userbase ( 1.25% ratio)  VS 0.5m with 8m userbase in 3 months (6.25%ratio). They were probably expecting 0.5m, and is probably going to be 0.8m lifetime and maybe 1m, great numbers for such a niche game on a console that maybe is not going to reach 20 m.

i think bayo 2 can manage to sale 1,5m in the end.(digital and retail). they have some problems with stock of the good version in europe, so i guess many buyed both digitl and not one retail. an captain toad will be realy hard to track in europe for the first month, nintendo just said, sale it before launch, and didnt comunicate that enough to stores. had to ask for the game because it wasnt displayed for selling in local stores, but we have 1 shop with a good storemanager and he sold it to me after a quick check in the web. tracking of it will be a mess first weeks.

Guys these in-depth discussions about Bayonetta 2's sales are out of place considering how every Bayonetta games are not accurately tracked by VGC. It has all three overtracked. And we know for a fact that Bayonetta 2 is overtracked by at least 100k in the US based on NPD. So it's probably closer to 350k than 500k. The PS360 version of Bayonetta is also surely overtracked.

flopped?

Alright.

We want to see both!!!

Prove that they "flopped".  We do not know the budgets, or the sales expectations for some of these games.

Watch Dogs, surely did, but that was expected.  Sonic Boom deserved to "flop".

Captain Toad is a budget title, I am confident it will not be a flop.  Hyrule Warriors was considered a success by Nintendo when it reached 300k.

Not all games are made with a 50+ million dollar budget, or with expectations of 1+ million copies sold.

Oh. That much? No punch intended.

Ubi should have spent their money on a RedSteel U (of course with WiiMotion+/Nunchuck controls).

It's at 40K copies, about to surpass what Splinter Cell Blacklist did in its first year, now that's sad.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I'm pretty sure you're right. Sega is stupid, but I don't think they are "walk away from a game that sold 2 million units" stupid.

Sad thing is if Bayo 2 was on X1 or especially PS4 it would have easily sold over a million by now. I still give Nintendo props for backing the game in the first place, but would it have killed them to promote it a little?

You mean, you missed all their promotions for it?

Took long enough to make this thread. I remember somone, forgot who, said he would make a topic with this exact title in a topic where people were predicting 2 million lifetime for Beyonetta 2.

Here is the prediction-thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=192165

Seems people weren't this outrageous with their predictions as you try to paint it.

Contrary to how you view comments in a topic like this, not trying to "paint" anything. That is not the topic i mentioned, then one i'm talking about is older than a year by now i reckon.
