I don't think I consider any of my consoles retired. Last year my friends and I had a Sega Genesis party out of the blue.

Well, maybe the GameCube and the GB/GBC, since backwards compatibility renders them obsolete.

the greatest....... i retired mine in 2010,and then it came out of retirement for one more fight about 6 months ago. i seen a thread on gaf called something like ''hidden ps2 gems'', so i did a quick scan through the thread and a game caught my attention, mlb power pros. did a youtube search on it and it looked alot like the old rbi-baseball game that was on the nes(but with ps2 graphics), bought it the next day off amazon, never heard of the series until then....... and of course the ps2 worked like a charm after being shut off for years(launch ps2 too),reliable

i retired min in 09 when a slew of ps3 games came out re5 uncharted 2 cod mw2 ect been using from launch to 2008 replayed mgs 3 gta sa and nfs mw 05 during 07-08 while waiting for ps3 games to release

Mine is still not retired. It's central use is DDR, but otherwise it's unused. When I play normal PS2 games, it's usually on my BC PS3.

Also plugged in and working are: NES, SNES (+ Super GameBoy), N64, Gamecube (+ GBA adapter), Wii U, Sega Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and original Xbox. I also have a bucket of controllers that also contains a 3DS, Vita, 2 GameBoy Pockets, 2 GameBoy Colors, PSP, PSPgo, DSlite, and Sega GameGear.

I never owned a PS2... I saw my brother in law with his, two of my cousins with theirs, some of my friends bragged about it... I got to play it, loved Vice City and Yu Gi Oh, but never got a chance to buy one... Until this week. Tomorrow I'll probably play my own PS2 for the very first time!

My love for JRPGS got me to buy one, since there's so many exclusives JRPGS and other genres. I haven't even plugged in the console, and I already bought 12 games for it. Such an amazing library it seems, I hope that it'll provide me with plenty of fun and joy just like the good old GameCube did and will do while I play Baten Kaitos for the first time.

Which games did you got?
Let us know about your experience with it

Well, I got everything used. College is on the horizon, and Dem books are expensive... So I kinda need to save money. But the console that I bought, came bundled with 5 games already: Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Phantasy Star Universe, Dirge Of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy XII. The first two I don't care about, but the last 3 I was going to buy anyway!

Then I bought black label copies of Final Fantasy X, and Twisted Metal Black. And yesterday I came across a used game lot... It includes some Casino game, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, WWF Smackdown Bring It, Devil May Cry, and Xenosaga... All for 10 bucks! I was going to get Xenosaga due to the fact that the trilogy is the main reason I bought the console for, so the other 4 games are just a bonus.

I'll buy new copies of Persona 3 FES and Persona 4, never played a Persona game before, and also new copies of the Digital Devil Saga! Neogeo Battle Coliseum, King Of Fighters XI, Genji, Metal Saga, and many other games :)

Twisted Metal alone will be worth it.

You got some great games there. Final Fantasy 12 is superb!
Go for God of War games too, Shadow of the Colossus (don't you dare miss this one!) and if you have a like for Final Fantasy Tatics or SJRPG in general (plus if you like anime) you can try the Disgaea games (Phantom Brave too). And obviously, if you haven't played it yet, go get Resident Evil 4 asap.
I haven't played Okami but people say it's great too.
Metal Gear Solid games I've also not played but I've played Metal Gear Solid 4 on PS3 and it was so good!
You have such a rich library of amazing games to play, go give'em your best XD

Well, it turns out the seller sent me different games instead of the ones listed/pictured... And I'm very happy he did. No Hitman, Phantasy Star (I'll get it anyway), Tony Hawk.. He sent Onimusha 2, GTA III, and Crash Tag Team Racing! Also, instead of the Greatest Hits editions of FF XII and Dirge Of Cerberus, he sent me the Collectors Edition for XII, and Black Label one for VII.. I'm happy!

Shadow of the Colossus is on my wish list! And I also bought Budokai Tenkaichi 3!! I'm so excited 😃.

Well at least you were able to retire yours, mine died. lol
