canada and the us are fucked, they heavyly invested in oil, and the oilprice is down an will stay there for a while. but its not bad for clean energie, clean energie and oil arent competing so it doesnt matter.

It's bad for ethanol production, yet that's not really clean energy anyway, just a waste of food imo.

I haven't seen my eleictricity bill getting less yet, so I guess solar and wind energy are still fine alternatives. I don't think policy makers are dumb enough to switch to oil to produce electricity. Oil is hardly used anymore for electricity. Natural gas prices are still the same?

Well it all good but I still remember when it was less then a dollar in the late 80s and most of the 90s (moved to the US in 1988). Milk went up a lot though less then a year ago there where still some places where you could get a gallon for 99 cents or $1.49 and most places had it for under 2 dollars. Right now the cheapest milk in my area is $2.59 for a gallon at Aldi.

Surely over here, it'll end up in more savings for small business that depend on vehicles, whether it's for goods, transportation or services.

From 95 cents the liter a few months ago to 60 cents right now, that's a massive improvement when compared to 9-10 years ago. I still remember the days of 30-40 cents the liter.

Not really :/

It was like 1.40 not too long ago and for some reason, its 1.05 atm. I am gonna get sooo many back up tanks full of oil so that when the price goes back up to this terrible 1.40 again, I shall have the last laugh!

Either that or when that affordable Tesla model comes out, I will buy that!

Fracking is going to destroy the land. But hey, at least gas is cheap, right. People are stupid as they always have been. So enjoy your cheap gas, and enjoy the consequence later.

It could bad for the North American economy, but i'm still not sure about all reasons that caused the lower prices... They invested a lot in fracking, oil sands and offshore drilling and they may not be profitable anymore. But that would actually be good for the environment (short-term) because they're the most polluting methods. Russian and Arabian oil is mostly produced with conventional methods that are less harmful.

If fracking and oil sands are still profitable enough: good for the NA economy, disastrous for the environment.
