So ioi isn't allowed to take vacation to spend time with family/friends for the holidays because u want updated numbers? Sounds pretty selfish to me.

I don't think its a problem. The site's weekly numbers are a labour-intensive task, that to the best of our knowledge are compiled by Brett and Brett alone. Guy needs a holiday as well you know...

do you think ioi made, and runs the site purely off charity and from the goodness of his heart? do u have any idea how much he makes from this site? are we not all here primarily for dales data? is the sites name not based on sales data????? yet to be on the site and expect said sales data is so,show being selfish?
how's this for selfish. if I make a site and the site goes on to make a lot of money for me. I owe it to the members or people that come visisting that site to provide them the service the site is set to provide. failure to do so will be quite simply that, me failing as a site. look at it this way, if there were another site called vgsales. and every single Friday like clockwork that site had sales data. and also had forums as good as s this one with better tools, this site will fall hard or ioi will start taking the site more seriously. this is just a simple fact, but Yh, I am probably selfish and the bad guy here.

They've certainly been weak about giving sales numbers lately.
IMO if VGC has a single point of failure (ioi) then VGC has a problem. If ioi gets hit by a bus (or ebola) does the site essentially fall over and become defunct?

thank God!!! someone that gets it.
this is just all round bad form if an entire site that potentially makes over 500k/yr is fully tied to just one person. but to somehow be the one saying this is wrong and insensitive.
we are fast approaching 3 weeks of lagging sales data. what good is a site that can't do the one thing its supposed to be doing?

What's with people like u these days acting like everybody owes u something? What does the owner making money have to do with anything, if we were paying customers than u would have a point but the site and it's numbers are free so yes in a sense it is in fact a charity to us.

and this is not about entitlement. if u think that that's what this is about then as I said, you have no idea what you are talking about. this is not even about the owner making money or not. its simple. you make a site, your site offers a service. be it news, sales data, a marketplace, access to ur friends pictures and updates....whatever. every site serves a purpose. how good that site is at meeting that purpose ensures its user base and reputation grows. the more those two grows, the more money that site makes. IT IS NOT WRONG, ENTITLEMENT, SELFISH.... or whatever, to simply ask that a site does what its supposed to do.

Well, a lot more important entities take the time off (schools, government offices and even services companies) for christmas. So I don't see what's so bad about a free entertainment website taking a week off.
And you know, you could always find another website if you feel this one is not satisfying youre needs and you are not getting your money's woth.
Btw, I don't think you actually hate to be that guy.
