Shadow of the mordor is a rip off. Sure the game is good, but it would have been a phenomenon if it was released before ACreed and Batman Arkham. Fact is, it wasn't.

Bayonetta 2, is Bayonetta. Classic beat em all have aged horribly, and except for Wish time, bayonetta haven't really changed the core formula. It's a good game without a doubt but nothing ground breaking.

Smash bros u, same game since melee. Same goes for Mario Kart U. 

Again I'm speaking for me. I'm not a fan of Destiny at all, but we can't argue that except for the shitty execution, the idea and formula is great and we all know activision is gonna make something about it and correct the wasting opportunity of the first ones. Even if Destiny isn't a great game at all, I would have vote for it too. Really nice tentative, really good setup and concept, all wasted because of bad execution. BUT, that is what sequel are made for.

Your argument against the other games lacking originality can also be pointed straight at Destiny. It might have been a great concept if it had come out before the likes of Borderlands and other MMO FPS', but it didn't. It's just hyped enough that people that weren't into MMO FPS' thought it was innovative because they hadn't played anything like it before. The whole game is a rip off and executed worse than other games in that genre.

I actually think whilst Shadow of Mordor copied AC and Arkham in core gameplay, it also added quite an innovative mechanic with the Orc Chiefs strength stats and is far more innovative than Destiny. I'm actually not a huge fan of the mechanic but I can appreciate the thinking behind it.

Please note, that I actually like Destiny; I did find it pretty addicitive and the gameplay mechanics are near perfection, but your argument doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

I give my personal GOTY vote to Destiny... it is the best game I played in years... not only this year.

My second choice is Ground Zeroes (this game deserves a lot of praise too... best MGS I ever played).

I loved TLOU.

But Destiny give me way more than TLOU.

Destiny even with flaws > TLOU.

Your love for Destiny is admirable Ethomaz, and it's good to see the game getting some recognition.

But, to me, there were better games released this year. Doesn't mean it's a bad game by any stretch but it's not the GOTY.

If Mario Kart 8, Smash or Bayonetta 2 aren't GOTY, then only Far Cry 4 deserves it in my opinion

For someone who spent 250 hours playing Destiny you sure do bash it a lot. People usually stop playing games they don't like.
