Doesn't take a lot of character to jump on the Hate Train

The story was purposely unfinished they left it like that too continue it. That's like saying mass effect was unfinished.

That's complete bs and you know it. Mass Effect is way more fleshed out than Destiny. We're not talking about the ending of Destiny we're talking about everything inbetween.

Yes Mass Effect is more fleshed out but they both ended with huge cliff hangers. What happened in between that made the game so unfinished in your eyes? I honestly don't see it.

Destiny's ending wasn't a huge cliff hanger at all! You kill the black thing, mystery chick still didn't tell you anything and just left while the speaker was giving a speech.

In between was nothing but the same type of missions. You go to a spot, throw out dinklebot and protect him while waves come at you. Then nothing is explained in game. Everything intersting you want to know is on the grimoire cards that you can't even access in the game. Oh and if you want better mission types and more story, buy the DLC and the next Destiny.

The cliff hanger is that the light is still dead and you need to find  a way to wake it back up which you partially helped with in this story. The mystery chick told us about the vex which we did not know about. I actually like the way the missions were setup I like fighting waves of enemies in FPSs. Maybe the problem is I'm used to this sort of thing from playing MMO's a good portion of my life. MMOs are pretty much like this except the stories are even worse. I played World of Warcraft for years and I couldn't tell you anyhting about the story in that game.

As this conversation moves forward, please stay on topic. Discuss, debate, and otherwise dissect Destiny, but leave any personal evaluations and insults out of this thread.

"It's a prime example of how the nebulous concept of "content" can be used to puff up a game without adding anything to it. There's a ton of "stuff" in Destiny. You'll never want for things to do ... but it's terrible at providing motivation to do any of it."

"Once the final, hackneyed closing scene finishes, fireteam members are awarded the same weapon, regardless of class, and a handful of currency. This reminder of how wholly unspecial you are is the big finale of a lavishly produced but troubled game that excels in the basics but lacks creativity and heart."

"The pieces are there, but too many of them feel malformed or half-realized to make Destiny recommendable."

"Destiny often feels like a collection of its influences' biggest problems."

Reviews from 3 months ago... read the recent articles and Destiny is into all the Best Games of 2014 list.

Just some examples...

GiantBomb? It is in the best games of 2014 list there
Polygon? There give the award of the most interesting game of 2014

I can go ahead.

"At times, there's a definite sense that Bungie has done as little as possible, and, much like the original game, stretched out an already thin layer of content to a ridiculous degree."

"Having placed so much emphasis on levelling gear through repetitive grind, rubbishing that progress and expecting us to repeat it is harsh."

I find it funny that there are people who are defending Destiny even with all the problems it has. Has there been a game that has won a GOTY award with a Meta in the 70's while it competes with other games that scored higher than it?

Proud to be a Californian.

Destiny is a great game.

Eurogamer's GOTY

1. Mario Kart 8
2. Destiny
3. Hearthstone
4. Bayonetta 2
5. Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls
6. Alien: Isolation
7. Dark Souls 2
8. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes
9. Towerfall Ascension
10. Forza Horizon 2

Mario Kart 8 take the first spot and it was deserved... Destiny almost won this year but fell to the second place ahead a lot of good games.

I told you guys... Destiny is that game.

Part of GAF is in meltdown because Destiny is receiving so many praise from the big sites.

And this is why I want another gaming crash. People will support corrupt companies. If this were any other industruy, companies like Activision would be bankrupt.

I agree with you but I don't think it could happen since the gaming industry has grown soo much since 1983. We need something else, developers like Bungie needs to have more artistic freedom from companies like Activision, then I think we will se less of these games like Destiny.
