so in your eyes a xenogears current gen reboot should not cost more than a last gen gta 5 (~ 250m)? |
It would cost much less than that. You haven't given any reason as to why it would cost that much.
just give it to a chinese team like spicey horse

well the reason why i thought it would even cost more than that is because i was assuming it should be a AAA project on the same technical level as ffxv. with that plus the scale of xenogears story in mind, i would be amazed if it would cost less than destiny to produce.

And I'm positive FFXV is not going to cost .5 billion dollars to make. Xenogears would be a remake, it would cost much less. The only reason Destiny costed so much was because it was in development for so long.
Do you guys mind using spoilers or staying in topic? There's people out there (like me), who haven't played Xenoblade or FF X (I own both and haven't touched them). And you're not even chatting about developing the fourth episode of Xenosaga... And you basically spoiled the inevitable and predictable endings of both games, but they were spoiled anyway!!!
Anyway, my pick would be a collab between tri-ace and tri-crescendo. Ace has Star Ocean under their belt, I'm currently playing The Last Hope, and the whole Sci-Fi thing is very well done. It also deals with themes kind of similar to religion, and all of that mature stuff.
Crescendo.. Eternal Sonata, Baten Kaitos, and FRAGILE DREAMS for gods sake!!! They know how to handle emotional and deep stories related to mature themes, plus Fragile has to be the most beautiful game ever made.
I say Tri-Ace and Tri-Crescendo WITH Yuki Kajiura helping soundtrack wise, and bang you have a masterpiece.

Hope you didn't get too much spoiled for you.

Then let's say that Bamco decides the series would be lucrative enough to make a sequel (episode IV), who do you think has the chops to deliver (or for this series case even improve) on the story of a Xeno game? |
Maybe mistwalker, but monolith is a heavy hiitter, hard to compete with that without changing the series too drastically.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
Without Monolithsoft, it would be a bastardization, and probably a shitty one.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It was never said that no one else was powerful enough.
