Forums - Gaming Discussion - So take Monolith Soft and out of the equation, who would you get to develop Xenosaga episode IV?

Let's get crazy (and I mean absolutely NUTS) and say Namco Bandai releases Xenosaga for XBone, cutting out Monolith Soft from development of the HD process completely and say it blows sales expectations out of the freaking water (2.5 Million sound good).

Then let's say that Bamco decides the series would be lucrative enough to make a sequel (episode IV), who do you think has the chops to deliver (or for this series case even improve) on the story of a Xeno game?

The tales team?

Ehh, I don't know. I don't think that I've seen any dev that's done better games than MS.

I always found the stories of Tales to be... Lacking (besides Symphonia).

Where the Tales games have always shined was the unique battle system (which everyone is pretty much copying now) and art style (they've been anime enfluenced since the beginning and to this day still go with cel shaded which I love). However, they haven't really made a game that was very sci-fi or philosophical and religious in nature. I don't think the Tales of team would do a very good job at a Xeno game to be honest.

I guess my only question would be if a developer has been so personally involved with the Final Fantasy series make a Xeno game, would they screw it up by putting the sci-fi elements and religious themes in the background for a love story?

Basically I find Mistwalker games to be more character driven while Monolith Soft's games are more story driven.

Atlus. Because why not?

Although their graphics and combat system generally GREATLY lack the finer details in comparison to the Xeno series, I think they could deliver on story.

The question then becomes would the rest of development be way to far out of their element to make a Xeno game. Is their anything they had done that is closer to the design style and gameplay mechanics?

All that stuff was in the background for me in Xenoblade, my main drive was revenge for Fiora and then rescuing Fiora.

Okay, but before and after that arc what pushed you? Not to mention the extreme religious symbolism of that entire arc.
