Phablets are cannibalizing tablets:

Doesn't surprise me that phablets are cannabilizing tablets, it's kinda the best of both worlds, in my opinion at least. Galaxy Note 4 or iPhone 6 Plus have nice big screens but also are small enough to fit in a pocket/purse.

No need to own a small/medium size smartphone and a tablet when u can get a nice middle ground device instead.

Phablet is still sounds like a derpy name... Like, they honestly couldn't come up with another name for it? Sounds so hipster

And yea, its always either Apple or Samsung while the rest gets loled

I personally love the combination of a small smartphone (which I can operate with one hand) and a big tablet.

I have a Samsung S4 mini (which will be probably replaced by an Xperia Z3 Compact or Z4 Compact in 2015 or 2016) and an iPad Air. But I have no problem being a minority with that opinion. ;)

Of course Apple is dominating. The Appstore is great. Tons of great gaming to be found there.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Love that phablets are growing, I feel like they are the perfect form factor for me. Although tbh my current Xperia Z Ultra is a tad too big, next time I will be looking at something slightly smaller like the Note or Nexus 6.

Ya I guess it just comes down to preference. I understand why u enjoy that combo. Nice and small phone that can easily be taken anywhere and nice big screen for at home.

I personally prefer the phablet, I love my Galaxy Note 4, for me it's the perfect size but I'm also a reletively large guy (6', 200lb). For an average or small person I could see how such a phone would be a bit of a hassle getting in and out of pockets.

Phablets are cannibalizing tablets:

The reason Phablets took the tablet market share this year is DIRECTLY related to the new Iphone 6 released this year.  All of the iphone junkies were just waiting for their version of a phablet to finally  come out.  If this data were to break down by brand from year to year you would see this.

Just he market share # for Apple is clear enough...

It is near the end of the end....

Is there really 20 different manufacturers sharing the scraps of the market?

Yep, phablets doing well. I've been using a Nexus 6 phablet.

iPhone 6+ looks a bit "slab" like to me though. Also they really do bend (friend of mine bent his in his pocket).
