Seriously, this film is absolutely ridiculous. It has ruined all other action movies for me. I watch superhero movies and it's so blatant at how much they use jump cuts to make their hits feel strong. It's absolutely ridiculous, as you can never even see the full actors body. You see a punch flying and then boom it just cuts and the other shot is where the punch actually hits. It just has no impact IMO when you do a jump cut like that. Let us see the hit! Have an action scene that's at least 2 seconds long without jump cutting!

If you haven't seen the Raid, let me just show you what is possibly the greatest five minute fight scene of all time (It is the greatest IMO). Notice how few jump cuts. Notice how you can actually SEE the actors entire body whenever they're doing the fight. It's not just certain parts of his body cut off. If you haven't seen the Raid then I HIGHLY reccomend it. The Raid 2 is amazing as well, but for me personally The Raid Redemption is the better film. Still the Raid 2 has an epic final fight scene.

It is such a shame this movie did not make more money. I realize it's an indonesian film with English subtitles, but it still deserves so much more success. In terms of the budget it had, it still made a very good amount of money and the Director is actually planning on returning to make the Raid 3.

Has anyone seen this film? What do you think? If you haven't seen it, have I convinced you to watch it? If you do watch it, DO NOT WATCH THE ENGLISH DUBBED VERSION. Seriously it ruins the film because they even dub over whenever the actors are yelling during the fight scene and whatnot. It's not that difficult to read a few subtitles so I would definitely recommend you to watch it in it's original language with subtitles enabled.

I haven't watched Redemption, but I have watched Raid 2... and it is fucking awesome. I'll find some time to watch Redemption, if it is better than the second, then I am in for a real treat!

In terms of action/fight scenes, it is definitely better than the Raid 2. 

Its not the greatest but one of the greatest action movies ever made.

Oh nice. Rama's fight with the hammer girl, baseball guy and the last dude with the knives was epic. I'll definitely watch it tonight.

That's why I like movies from back in the 80's. In a lot of those people are really getting punched and kicked. Those were the days.

Raid 2 is better in terms of action IMO. Raid 1 is a better movie because it basically said fuck it to having a real plot. Raid 2's plot is not good at all but the action is fucking beautiful.

Both are great. got them on blu-ray. The first one is a much better action movie than Dredd.
