Nintendo was too cute to attack.

Funny that Microsoft's security was much easier to take down, contrary to what some claim. Also Sony seems to have implemented new security measures, which is also something we heard about after 2011, but this confirms it.

What part don't you understand, They DID NOT break Microsoft's or Sony's security. A DDoS is not a hack.

Who said i don't understand? I know the difference between DDOS and a hack. I'm saying they got Live down easier, like the article mentions, but you'd know that had you read it.

You stated Microsoft's security was much easier to take down. They DIDN'T take down microsoft's security.

How do you know? I'll take their word over yours thank you very much. You are just assuming they DDOSed the service, who's to say they didn't hack it as well?

Oh, great. They have a "cause" now. It's bad enough to act like a dong. Don't act like a self righteous dong on top of it.

they are just dicks. end of story.

Meh. As long as I can play TLoU Remastered this weekend, nothing else matters.

Its a DDOS attack... Its hard to stop for any company even if they have epic security. The only way to really try to "stop" it is to spend soo much money that even if they are being hit with a DDOS attack, their servers will have enough available bandwidth/ports that they can take the hit and still service the customers but thats a lot of money.

What is interesting however, is once its stopped, how much time the respective platform took to recover. Xbox took like what, 24 hours to get back online after the initial attack where as psn is still not fully up yet on ps4? Thats the place where I think Sony needs to work on is the recovery time after the attack has done its course. (That is assuming that the hackers were true to their word and stopped attacking both platforms at the sametime)

exactly this. It is not hacking lol.

Easier to hack?

XBL was down for like 8h & PNS is down for 2 days XD

For lulz (and a cause), these guys are multi-talented........dicks.

1.  So ddos is hacking now?

2.  "It was for laughs"   "It was a real cause"  Which was it because it cant be both.

3.  XBL was easier to take down?  Yet it was back up in hours and some people experienced no issues?  Im not understanding.  Was it easy to ddos attack but not maintain it or something?  I swore they said it would be down forever......

Just no.......These guys -_-  There is absolutely nothing good that they did other than being dicks.  And christmas out of all days?  Good job ruining kids christmas around the world......good job, good job.

XB1 and PS4 are kid's consoles, confirmed!

These guys. I mean, why not use this energy to attack online predators, child pornogrphers, identity theives, or Ubisoft. Real monsters! Instead, they stop little kids from playing video games on Christmas morning. Really big men, those guys.

I haven't really touched my consoles in days and when I do, it'll be single player for a while. Still pointless douchebag behavior.

Apparently PSN is slightly harder to take down and infinitely harder to get back online.
