20m sold through?
to stay ahead of the wii, sony Need to ship 6.7m ps4 this holiday quarter (is ~0.2m ahead of wii right now)

but the ps4 already sold through 150k less Units than wii in the us this November
no 20m sold through. maybe not even 20m shipped

i dont know where you people are coming up with the "no specific number, just trying to sell as much as they can" thing but I'm positive that Sony has a number that they want to ship by the end of the year. Most if not all manufacturers and suppliers do.

I worked in retail before and we weren't going for "sell as much as we can" but we were going for "sell this much". I've also had close contacts with a number of manufacturers and distributors and ALL of them had a sales target. None of them were "selling or shipping as much as they can" but all of them had a "must sell this much by end of year" number. There's always a sales target and I'm sure Sony knows how much they really want to sell this quarter. how much that is...only Sony knows.

I think they are quite a bit from reaching 20mn sold through, but shipments are a whole other matter.
