ive seen a lot of people complaining about exclusives and saying that they are one of the worst things in gaming, and that they would love to see a parity in terms of games librarys across all platforms (curiously most of this people are PC gamers).

in my humble opinion i think thats a really BAD idea especially for console gamers, lets be honest here right now the mayor reason why you would buy a console over a gaming pc is because of exclusives, if you were to remove them and make them available on all platforms then the PC would have ALL the advantages and the only reason you would ever buy a console is because you dont have the extra money (200 or 300 more dollars) to build a PROPER gaming PC.

PLUS: the reason why so many exclusives tend to be some of the best games out there in the whole gaming market (Zelda, Halo, Uncharted), is because the people behind those games, are not just making a good game that will sell well, but they are trying to make a game that is so good that it will also sell consoles, and if you put this games on every platform i see that extra incentive going away and this developers wouldnt have this extra reasons to put more efforts into their games.

i wanna hear your opinions!

Exclusives make a console. A balance of third party support and strong first party stuff really makes a great console experience. Also, console is a bit more social for me as I enjoy local/couch multiplayer more than online.

I have being doing a lot of PC gaming since it is...cheaper.

Well, if all games were available in all platforms then without a doubt, I will be a PC only gamer

Superior Hardware, Steam Sales and Dedicated servers on various games and blah blah blah, you know how epic of a service steam truly is with 6100+ games on sale during their Christmas and summer sales! Not to mention that we have true backwards compatiblity when it comes to most games and the ones that aren't can be found for super cheap at GoG! Got a game from before the year 2000? No problem! PCs can play that shit as long as its in windows but even if isn't, we have virtual machines that can emulate the OS as well as many other methods! And we also have a shit ton more controller options as well as modding support, steam family sharing, 1080p 60fps+ and many more things for Free

So yea, imo, If every game was available everywhere, PC would be my choice no doubt! The only reason and I mean the only reason I buy consoles is cause of their exclusives

The xbox one (not trying to pick on the xbox fans but I am using it as an example) seems less and less interesting to me as they announce blah is also coming to PC! Same goes for the ps4 with games like SFV!

If there were no exclusives, then there would be no reason to not own a gaming PC. Exclusives make a console. It's the big reason why so much emphasis is put on them and one of the main reasons people have been discrediting the PS4.

As you said, PC obviously. Shell out the extra 3-4 hundred once now, save thousands as the generations go on.

In PS2 era I was completely PC guy. Got PS3 in 2009 only to play exclusives. Now I am PS4 only. Exclusives were a big factor to get consoles. Otherwise I would have gone PC only.

Sorry, dude, but your logic is a bit flawed. Not everyone would choose PC not just because of money.

Gaming on a console is a matter of convenience. Not everyone is tech savvy or has the patience to build the perfect computer and optimize everything. You know that the controller you use will work, unlike pc's where depending on the game, it can be a nightmare to make them work. Took me forever with my xb360/pc controller. Such a pain in the ass.

Then you have stupid things to worry about, such as antivirus going mental on you because it doesn't like a file from a game you want to install, obligatory installation through steam, uplay servers being offline and not being able to play your game at all, and so many more to name.

All I know that when it comes to my ps3, all I have to do is insert the disk and (if an installation is not required), my game will work just fine. Peace of mind matters a lot to me and I'm sure many others.

I also tend to keep the big tv in the living room and having a pc in the living room is not that easy, while with consoles it can be a different story.

exactly gotta agree with everything you said right here especially the last sentence, people like to pretend that exclusives going to PC is something OK when in reality it is lowering the actual value of said console to a lot of people.

Exclusives are the ones that give value to the consoles, take them away and well... the consoles seem less and less appealing.

Exactly! The only reason I bought a wiiU was cause of its exclusives that aren't avaliable on PC! The only reason I got the 3ds was cause its exclusives weren't avaliable on PC! And the only reason I got a ps3/psp was cause they both had plenty of exclusives that weren't avaliable on PC at the time and even now! If all those exclusives were avaliable on PC, I personally wouldn't bother, specially since PC builds are getting cheaper and cheaper

Both. I'll always have a PC but there are genres and types that I prefer playing on a console.

Also, it would be absolutely horrible to give Steam even more power. That is a future I don't want. I already buy from Green Man Gaming or elsewhere as much as I can.
