Guys, I've already moderated someone in this thread for reacting to PRrussiaGC's comment. Lets get back to the topic at hand and not concentrate on whether or not someone read the OP. If its quite clear someone didn't read the OP, correct him/her and move on. There's no need for insults to be thrown around in the thread.

winner of the Directly to comment without fully understanding even the thread title. LOL Forget reading the OP.

He got to War, immediately stopped reading and cashed in.

Prussiagc answered to the very misleading thread title before it was changed. Why are you attacking him for that, when the first thread title was pure flame bait?

And even the article itself isn't that innocent as some of you are suggesting... Why was there a CONSOLE WAR in the house of the writer in the first place? Why can't he write "What made my decision for a Wii U" or something like that instead of "console war"... Oh yeah, much less clicks and less hate between the fans of the different consoles.

Didn't know he changed the OP and title, just thought it was funny.

My bad, so this would be the reason it didn't make sense.  I don't really think the Title is that offensive, he is just saying there was a massive war in his house in which a extreme battle had taken place. However we missed all the juicy details.

While I don't really agree with all his points and what makes for a great gaming macine, I do agree about the family or party play.

PSP has it between those 4, but since the Vita already has everything the PSP has and more, Vita it is.

Thanks

Good call, also for those participating in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, you have 7 days to make your puchases and get your credits.  I may throw a couple hundered on there myself this weekend and get all the Virtual Console titles I have on my wish list.

Those are valid points from the writers point of view and he seems to have made a rational decision when picking a system for himself and his family

but from my point of view they become invalid for these reasons:

No. 5 – Backwards compatibility
I didn't have a Wii and barely any valid interest in it's library.

No. 4 – The software
I have no interest in most of Nintendo's first party games and IPs rendering it unapealing since there's barely any interesting third party support.

No. 3 – Nintendo, the company itself
Not a big fan of how they operate, their views on gaming and their PR aproach.

No. 2 – Couch/local co-op and multiplayer
I dont have a lot of gaming parties or people over to play but the times i did it on my ps3 were very enjoyable. Mostly singstar at parties, some fighting games and Sengoku Basara. Some smaller games like Scott Pilgrim and When Vikings attack were a surprising funny experience with friends over.

I believe this attitude that the multiplayer experience is a Nintendo thing comes mostly from ignorance on the part of people about the experiences available on other systems.

I can see myself enjoying those features and same IPs on a PS4 along with games like DQ Heroes and similar games.

No. 1 – The value
I dont like Wii U as a hardware piece either, it's a weaker system, I don't believe it will have as extensive a lifetime as a PS4 or Xbox One so it becomes less worth the cost.

I got my PS3 in 2009, i was a late adopter. I'm still gonna buy games for it next year.... that's a 6 year lifespan for a system that i got into late in the game.

I'm planning on getting my Ps4 next year with the games that i want that are starting to release next year and i expect to get like 6/7 years at least of gaming from that system.

I dont see the Wii U last more than another 4 years to be honest, before Nintendo releases or at least announces a new system and starts killing support for Wii U.

This is my logic and my reasoning for why Wii U isnt a logical decision for me.

otherwise the article you posted was well written but still just a personal POV that most of us could write up on why they chose the system they chose.
