Miyamoto: Nintendo working on next console

Nintendo’s game design chief, Shigeru Miyamoto, has confirmed that a successor to the current Wii U console is already in development.

In an interview with Associated Press the creator of the iconic Super Mario and Zelda games said, “For the time being, our focus is on the Wii U hardware, but Nintendo as a whole has groups working on ideas for new hardware systems.

“While we’re busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be.”

NIntendo realized they messed up with the Wii U. Hopefully they won't make the same mistakes again...

So what is now Next Gen? PS4 and Xbox One or new Nintendo console... o.O

I'm still appauled at how "were working on new ideas" means: NINTENDO CONFIRMS new console!

I just dont get it. Of course, they are working on the next thing. Sony and Microsoft are aswell...

Actually... It has very little to do with the Wii U being ultra successful or... not so much. It has to do with, wait for it... They have always started working on their new console shortly after the release of their current console. It has been this way every generation for them. Now if we get to a point where we don't hear about a new console shortly after current release, then it is time to look into it more. 

Remember Project Reality for the Nintendo 64? Project Dolphin for Gamecube? Project Revolution for the Wii? Project Cafe for the Wii U? We always heard about the consoles LONG before release and shortly after current release.

nintendo will release a new old hardware.
they don´t understand if they want recover the "hardcore players" they need third party games. to get third party games, you need have a console system that works with these games like works on ps4 and xbox one.

i´m sure nintendo will try to create a new stupid thing to get a lot of sales like WII.

There are no games announced for Wii U in 2016. 2015 will be probably the last year of the Wii U.
