or maybe people want to play games they like? that might be too crazy

And that has to do with what I posted...?

If Nintendo fails and goes third party some people would be able to play the games they like without being mocked by 12 year olds and manchildren for owning a Nintendo console. Or that's what they believe.

Anyone who has insecurity about what console they own seriously needs to re-assess their life.

Around the Network

It depends of the generation. From the NES to the Gamecube Nintendo competed mith the other brands a lot more. The Wii was its own thing, not really fighting against the PS360. The WiiU is a bit of both,

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Can't I just be a regular gamer who likes games and not coloured oceans?

Ambiguity Ocean, let Nintendo war across all fronts and see which side concedes first.

None of the above! They just have to accept their niche status and restructure themselves to be able to survive on 30m hardware sales give or take. Without the need to have cutting edge graphics they should be able to release a console at $199 and their games in the $39-$49 price range, which should also mean more games less droughts. Pretty much every Nintendo fan would jump on this and some of the core PS/Xbox crowd will get it as a secondary console.

Around the Network

None really matches my expectation, which would neither be totally red or blue ocean, hence why I call it purple ocean. Basically what I mean is a more powerful console capable to compete with Playstation and Xbox, while still retaining all unique Nintendo Ideas.

Recently there is a news that give us a hint,  that the next Nintendo console is coming in the near future. Some of us from avid fans, old veteran fans, new and young Nintendo fans are debating how will they become, what is their market target, will they competing  with PS and Xbox brand on the same market again, will they trying to compete with Apple, Google tablet/ handled device, or maybe creating another blue oceans by innovating on new device like what they did with Wii on 6 gen era? I created 4 faction with their own benefit and risk  .

1. Red Oceans console Market, competing on the same market with PS and Xbox brand, by creating normal console but more powerful then their competitor

2. Red Oceans Handled/tablet Market, competing on the same market with Apple, Android, Lumia on casual tablet and smart device, by creating a fusion between Handled and Console.

3. Blue Oceans Market, competing with none , like what they did before with Wii and becoming the King of their own blue Ocean market,  by creating something that never exist before or something that out of the box, but with a risk like Wii.

4. Ambiguity Oceans Market, competing with both Red Ocean console and Red Ocean handled/Tablet, but with a risk like Wii U

So where do you stand?

WTF dude. I'm just a Nintendo fan. They make good games.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Neither. I don't think any of these decisions will bring back the glory from the olden days.

Please just go 3rd party and don't force me to own multiple consoles.

Or you could get all the Nintendo games you want with a Nintendo console. Seriously, what great third parties have there been recently? For any that are, get a PC or buy another console for the one or two games you want.

Whatever keeps them making consoles. Listen to what the market at the time demands. No more withered technology.
If they stopped making hardware, I'd probably become a PC gamer.

You could be a PC and Nintendo gamer at the same time.

I could, but at present my PC has the rendering power of  a cucumber. ;)

Might make someone happy if you add a rumble. Bzzzzzzzzzzzz

I already have a PC and I use it more often than any of my consoles. So I don't need a bunch of plastic gathering dust. That's why it would be beneficial to me to just have a single console. And since Nintendo hates powerful hardware I would very much like them to become a third party to my Playstation that still has enough great exclusives to warrant its existence.
