Hmm good question. I've always thought of the GameCube as my favorite. Not for 'console war' reasons but because it was the 1st console I bought with my own money and games like Rogue Squadron II, SF Adventures, Double Dash and Melee defined my teen years. Now a days I would say my 'favorite' console is actually the Wii. The system had a bad stigma about it due to LOTS of shovelware and Nintendo basically abandoning it to the casuals for a while there but I found a LOT of games I like on it. *cough* Xenoblade *cough*

Especially since one of the Nintendo execs (I think it was Iwata) commented on how unhappy he was with how similar the GameCube was to the other consoles out at the time.

Look at Nintendo's franchises and they've had less and less in common with their competitors over the years. I don't think the Wii U is any different than the Wii in that regard, which is why I didn't vote #4 because I don't think that's what is happening with them right now. They're doing the whole blue ocean thing and have been doing so for well over 10 years now.

Hard question.

Personally I think like the 'Ambiguity Ocean' strategy best. I'd like them to be able to have what the others have, yet still be unique. They shouldn't lose their 'Nintendo'-feel.

As long as they are the best game developer in the world I don't care which way they go as long as I can enjoy the games.

 

We don't need 3 consoles with 95% being multiplat games.
