I'm getting a Wii U soon, so I can become a poser.

IF it's not the steaming pile of gimmicky dogshit I'm afraid it will be, I may also get "Star Fox" as well.

I know that feel bro.

Starfox literally made me a gamer, but everything I've heard about the new one sounds awful. :(

You guys are too close-minded.

You know what sounds awful? Running around endlessly and pointlessly on a stupid dinosaur planet looking for some random girl that has nothing to do with any of the actual characters and trying to save everything from some reptiles and such. And not, you know, doing stuff you should be doing in a Star Fox game. Or enduring a cartoony mess with touch screen controls and a story worse than the worst fanfics you can find on the internet.

Star Fox has been through too much crap for people to be so concerned about the new one. As I've said before, this franchise has only seen good games at the hands of the person who created it in the first place, and he's never ruined one of his creations either. The controls might not be for everyone, but the game does not sound awful at all - it sounds like a natural evolution to what Star Fox should have always been and it's being done in a way that can be innovative while not, as you say, destroying the franchise, which is something that has already been done 12 years ago to be honest.

This game is going to top Star Fox 64.

The new controls sound totally pointless; dual analogue could achieve the same outcome without the risk of major awkwardness. It seems like they are using the whole game to try to push Gamepad gimmicks onto us.

At least give us the option not to use the Gyro. If it's optional, I'll be fine with that. But if it's compulsory, it could ruin the entire experience.

I am definitely not a poser, more like a Dark Lord of the Sith.

Meh. I like experiencing games in new ways, and I'm sure the gyro controls will be done well.

It might not be for everyone, but still. I enjoyed DS and Wii Zelda games as much as the other ones in their franchise, so I know I'm completely open to new control possibilities. Also, it seems like they're going for a "triple analogue" control scheme, with one stick controlling the Arwing, another one controlling the ship's manouvers and stuff, and the gyro sensors being the aim. I don't think that could be done with dual analogue, though admittedly they could just have the option of making it dual analogue and moving the manouvers to ZL/ZR.

But they're actually trying to use the Gamepad and I can't blame them for that. I just got a Pro Controller last week and to be honest the Gamepad has been pretty much dormant ever since - I love the fact that it won't have to be like that for every game, because it's a pretty darn good controller with endless possibilities that haven't been explored. To see it happening on one of my favorite Nintendo IPs makes it even better.

Hey, I'm a guy who loves motion controls. In fact, I almost always prefer them to dual analogue. I only ever bought COD because it supported Wiimote + Nunchuk controls, and Skyward Sword was one of my top games of last gen.

But tilting my Gamepad around to aim, it just sounds so awkward. Like I said, if it was an option, I'd have no problem with it. But if they force it on us just to try to justify their controller, I'll be pissed.

0 WiiU games... (Allthough I have played MK8 a LOT)
>10 3DS games...

Well, in my defense, I have huge Wii, DS and GC collections and have played more than a hundred Nintendo classics... via emulation.
And I have replayed them a lot.
So screw that, I reject the poser status.

more of a vintage Nintendo gamer frankly, I have every Nintendo system except for the Wii U and a few more of there more recent handhelds (the DS arc). but definitely! if you absolutely adore something like 100 of their games you own I would call you genuine, and that's where I'm at (although don't get me wrong there are certainly some Nintendo titles I have which I don't go back to play time and time again, cough Superman 64)

also I mean even if you only loved Nintendo because of one particular game what would it matter? if someone fell in love with Ocarina of time in 98' and doesn't love other NIntendo IPs can they not be a fan of the company? I guess in that case it would be more of a fan of a game.... but games are an extension of Nintendo. I also think that it is possible for someone to respect and admire the Nintendo brand without constantly playing there games. I didn't buy a lot of the Wii library because I did not dig the motion controls, but it didn't make me any less of a fan

I'd be concerned if they came out at a Nintendo Direct two months away from the Zelda game showing off this super awkward tacked on forced use of the Gamepad for something, such as showcasing that now instead of swinging the sword with B you have to slice stuff on the touch screen Fruit Ninja style. But no, seriously, Star Fox is being made from scratch with the Gamepad in mind - it'll come good.

I wish I had your confidence.
