I dunno. I don't think I'd consider myself a poser. My only console this generation is a Wii U. I've owned all Nintendo consoles since the NES, and I am the proud owner of Gamecube Component Cables. Its true though. I do buy most of the big Nintendo franchises, but I also pick up games that others may not. Its been even better now that all those games are on the eshop. My library is getting full of indie games. Its getting so full that I ordered a external so I can get more. I'm hoping that they find a way to add Saturn games to the VC and other hits from the N64/Saturn era. Hell I think that Square should consider porting the PC version of FF7 and FF8 to Wii U VC.

Wouldn't really classify myself as a Nintendo fan, Sony fan, or MS fan. With Nintendo, I only really like Fire Emblem, Pokemon and maybe Zelda. I mostly just enjoy JRPGs that may be available on Nintendo platforms or on Playstation.

The rest were mostly new posters who didn't know me and took offence to me slamming Nintendo's recent business decisions and speaking ill of beloved titles like Wind Waker, Smash Bros, and Majora's Mask.

But myself personally, I grew up on NES, and then GB/SNES in the mid-90s. I still think NES is the greatest home console ever made.

I already own a bunch of Wii U games, and honestly, I think it has the best controller they've designed since SNES, and am very happy they did not keep the Wiimote as the main controller. Motion controls were neat for awhile, but they should never replace regular controls, and thankfully they have not. I already plan to buy Kirby, Yoshi, and Zelda next year. IF it's not the steaming pile of gimmicky dogshit I'm afraid it will be, I may also get "Star Fox" as well.

But really, as you say, one should not have to "prove" that they are a "real Nintendo fan". This mentality, in any fandom, whether it's movies, shows, games, music, sports, you name it............calling people out as "posers" and talking about "real fans", is pointless, divisive, and childish.

Did they buy a Wii U? Good. Are they buying Wii U games? Great. That's all that matters. Move along.
