That was the bikini I was referring to. The reward by stripping. Has nothing to do with smash Bros.

Though the fact it's called smash Brothers should also hint there's an inequality.

since when is Nintendo sexist?

According to today's peanut gallery, 1985

In all seriousness though, what bollocks.

You use words like peanut gallery to under cut people.  But it doesn't undercut the point that for years Mario rescued a woman from a reptile or an ape or whatever the baddie of the day was.  You pointing out the graphical limitations of the day does NOT mean it's not sexist.

the bad people in games are mostly male ! sexism !

You use Samus in defence against sexist behavior when you can get her in a bikini. I mean. Come on.

And?....

And.... that does nothing to undercut my point that when you play metroid well enough you can strip the main character as a reward.  Samus being a girl?  Great.  No issue, and a fun surprise.  Earning the "privilege" to see some 8 bit skin?  Your picture doesn't change that.

As I said before.  Sexually empowered doesn't mean sexually exploited.  There's a difference.

This has the potential to be a great thread by drawing out the social justice warriors who see it as their duty to defend women because they are perceived as being incapable of doing so themselves.

The irony is absolutely enthralling.

You can be against something you see as wrong regardless of who or what is wronged.   That's called human empathy.

Not at all, Role.   I'm just saying that Nintendo has just as many roots in the department as the others and was pointing out the flaws of the OP, which was Nintendo based.

You don't have to be a fan of video games to be against women's representation in them. It's not a hard concept to grasp.  You can have a strong female lead without being sexist about it.  Metro id's a great example right until the end.  Then it becomes a very poor example indeed.
