Lock if someone already made a thread about this.

I was just looking at the platform totals of VGC, and it made me realize of something; ever since Sony entered the bussiness, they took the crown from Nintendo, progressively beating them with the PS1 against the N64, then again with the Ps2 against the Gamecube; but yet, there's the Wii, which single-handely won and it sits on top of the seventh gen, with a minimal chance of Ps3 ever surpassing it with its legs.

Thing is, will this situation ever happen again? Can Nintendo make a console that beats its competitors in brute sales? Or they will be forever condemned to second/third position? Playstation 4 is on the verge of surpassing Gamecube, so it kinda makes one wonder, do they have a chance admist Sony's positive feedback with its users? Is there any chance for Nintendo ever pulling a Nes/Wii situation again?

We're talking about home consoles, though; not handhelds.

Yeah, it has a chance. They just have to once again figure out what people truly want. For alot of people, myself included, those controllers for the Wii U are a big turn off.

Their philosophy is pretty much same as NES days. Its not bad. But I fear no Nintendo home console will ever reach top in future.

Same here. I want small normal controller. Plus despite what others say, tablet controller doesnt feel special or show something unique as Wii mote.

This

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Have you even used the GamePAD though? That's what I thought initially, but after using it for some time it has quickly become one of my favourite controllers!

The question is why not? They did it once, it can happen again.

I wonder about the Xbox though, I would like to see it on top once, just to see people squirm in anguish.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

The industry is pretty unpredictable (I never guessed this gen would go the way it's gone so far)so yeah, of course they can.

Only when they get their shit together and buy Sony
