Doesn't matter how you break it down the numbers tells the whole story... Great work Sony!

Haha, the downplaying makes for some good entertainment

How is that possible? No way IndieStation 4 were able to sell that much retail games cause they have no games, it's all indies.

not realy impressiv, they sold 16m ps4s. all those people need games...

1/4 of the ps4 owners own cod, fifa, and destiny

thats not impressive

especially when your competition hasnt gotten a 3 million seller yet :P

They also have less $60 retail games to choose between.  Competition has also sold less systems, while having more $60 games to choice between. So them not hitting 3 million is more likely and if they do with the number of units sold, it would be a massive acheivement at it's current state.

im sure if dead rysing and ryse didnt release on xb1 CoD, fifa and destiny wold be at 5m+ on xb1.

I know attach rate is an indicator of how many games console buyers buy.. but games companies won't give two hoots about attach rate, all they care about is the physical numbers.

So MS will be happy with attach rate, but if 3rd party games  are selling more on PS4 than on XBO, do you think they will be going, well though we sold a lot less on XBO, we still did ok because of the attach rate. Nope, it's just the physical number that matters to them.

So PS4 having so many million sellers will be good news to the companies making software for PS4.

How many more exclusives (boxed AAA) has MS had over Sony, only one or two? Are we saying that that's making a massive difference to the fact they are selling less games across the board (on top of selling less consoles). Because again that doesn't make any difference to games companies at all. All they care about is selling as much software as possible, not the fact that one console has more games on it (which I don't think is that much bigger a number anyway).

Let's be realistic, the biggest and most important number for games companies is the number of sales a game can reach. More million(s) sellers is going to be more interesting to companies than some of the other things being thrown around.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

In other news: VGC has made its 20 millionth DUPE THREAD!

Let's celebrate!

What? Don't spread this nonsense because it's just that...

XB1 Retail Exclusives: 15
PS4 Retail Exclusives: 20

XB1 Digital Exclusives: 54
PS4 Digital Exclusives: 119

XB1 Exclusives rated universally good on Metacritic:11
PS4 Exclusives rated universally good on Metacritic:35

XB1 Retail Exclusives coming out: 8
PS4 Retail Exclusives coming out: 16

XB1 Brand New Created IPs: 14
PS4 Brand New Created IPs: 25

XB1 GwG Free games rated universally good on Metacritic: 3
PS4 PS+ Free games rated universally good on Metacritic: 19

The digital market on PS4 is also considerably bigger than for the others due to far more choice there (even in the US - confirmed by NPD)

Bigger attach rates are harder to achieve once totals get higher.
The fact that the PS4 is keeping the attach rate of the XBO with a so higher total number, it's actually very impressive.

Attach rates only go up as the number of consoles sold get higher. I mean, if you average them out all 3 consoles of last gen had double digit attach rates. PS4 and Xbone rates are only going to go up. And as both consoles sell more, PS4 will always have a software advantage WW, but if the attach rates remain even close let alone the same, it will be too big a piece of the pie for 3rd party companies to decide to just make their games PS4 exclusive.

Outside of what we have already had for years, like the occasional moneyhat or Japanese centric games that wouldn't come to Xbox regardless. Anyway just thought that comment was strange, don't want to seem as if I am raining on the parade or derailing. Bye.

The reason attach ratios go up so much is time, how fast the install base is growing is not a factor really (it's a confounding factor). This makes sense, because older owners of the consoles keep buying games so the average number of games bought per platform goes up. The average would on the other hand be harder to maintain/increase if console sales suddenly shot up due to all the new owners buying only 1-3 games when they grab the console.

and its not freaking sonys games, we talk about games on a sony system...

That's always the case! Are you new to this?

thats not allways the case... but i still feel stupid because its allways the case if we dont talk about nintendo...

That's Nintendo's fault. They have the worst third party support. When even the X1 has better support than the 3DS and Vita than the WiiU, you know they do something wrong.

Let's stay on topic though. This is about the PS4 and it has great support as you can see.

i wouldnt call it support... there would be just no multiplat games without the ps4^^.(and no ps4 without multiplat games).

its like saying the car industrie gets great support from the gasstations...
