I felt that all the problems that the series had permeated till the end. The way that korra is useless till the last second. The way that they work all the season to stop the plans of the bad guy, but in the end they do exactly what the bad guy was trying to do (open the portal, stop a idiot of ruling the kingdom). Rushing the coolest things out, like the relationship between varrick and zhu li.

The creators probably just did the korrasami thing to cover how bad the end really was, not that many people have any interest beyond rule 34 on this, anyway.

The day of colossus got everything right tough, cool giant fights, sacrifices, and varrick!

Better than season 2, but on pair with the 1. Season 3 was better, but in general TLA was just better in every way.

And i still don't know what the hell happened with zuko's mon!

It's in the comics.

It's actually... not that good. She basically abandoned her family for another man after she was forced to flee from the coup against Azulon.

Too many s04 haters. Not the best season, but still way better than s02.

And I absolutely loved the final

So you agree that 2 was the worst? I'm on board with that. Aside from the backstory and the introduction of Varrick, it was a pretty poor season: Korra and Mako at their worst as characters, Bolin reduced to a punch line and Asami to a punching bag for bad things to happen to, then the finale for the season, while an epic fight, hinged on "interventions" similar to the worst of what the major Shonen anime can put out (it felt like a Naruto or Bleach fight, in all the worst of what those series can do).

A punchline about domestic abuse, at that.

I thought Mako was actually pretty good that season, but I agree that it was by far the worst, other than the Wan episodes and the Iroh cameo. Unalaq was an uninspiring villain whose actions didn't really make very much sense. The final battle made no sense at all, and had a random Deus Ex Jinora thrown in. Korra reverted fully to angsty teenager mode.

I'd say 4 > 3 > 1 >>>>>>>> 2.

Or to include TLA:

Aang 3 > Aang 2 > Korra 4 > Korra 3 > Aang 1 > Korra 1 >>>>>>>>> Korra 2

2 is my least favorite too. The Pacific Rim thing at the end didn't sit well with me xD

Although, 1 is my favorite with 3 & 4 mixed up in the mid ^^

Am I the only one who didn't like the first season? For me it goes:
3=4>2>>1
I didn't care much for the first one. I mean the avatar struggling to beat some random benders in a sports game? Meh... Also, I loved Korra's last fight in Season 2.

I really enjoyed the finale and yes if you actually paid attention or had the desire for Korra and Asami to hook up (I did but only because they are both hot anime characters) then the ending sure cemented any notions of the two of them going on a life journey together. The intimate talks and the fact that they grew to be so close to one another (Asami was the only one Korra wrote to for 3 years!) and the blushing from Korra when Asami complimented her new look and the physically close hug given to her and that last scene of the finale! Walking up to a spirit portal hand in hand with the mountain range backdrop and then upon entering the portal they then assume the marriage stance facing one another intimately close holding hands staring in eachothers eyes! I mean if it wasn't obvious before well the picture is much clearer after considering the subtle clues. They literally looked like they could kiss one another! The walk to the spirit portal hand in hand was even zoomed in on! And the last scene is the two of them in an intimate trance! The kiss was very well implied. Either way if I am thinking too much into this and they are now just besties that is fine too but it sure didn't look that way at all. Great show. Great finale to Korra's adult transformation into a beautiful women. I love these Avatar shows and I sincerely hope another Avatar show is made some time in the future.

1) It resolved the issue of Kuvira not being a credible threat in several degrees, both in terms of just how unstoppable the weapon was, and in how good of a fight she put up at the end.

2) Did anyone think there were deliberate homages to Shingeki No Kyojin? A few of the rooftop running scenes gave me distinct flashbacks, while "aim for the back of the neck" could easily have been a coincidence.

3) Meelo crosses the usefulness threshold, just as Ikki did earlier this season. Nobody gets left out!

4) Prince Wu goes an interesting direction, though in terms of how it would work in real-world politics, it would take a generation to set up a working republic. He'd likely be king for a good 20 years or so, just before institutions were established.

5) Odd that Bataar Jr seems to be forgiven more easily than Kuvira. Blood thicker than water?

6) The spirits, however, seem to get away with it. Like showing up after its all over is enough of a gesture? If they had repaired the city, or something, that would be one thing. Spirits be spirits, i guess.

7) I was *so* waiting for Varrick to subvert expectations when he proposed, like a promotion to "official assistant" or something. Or for him to faux-subvert expectations just to yank Zhu Li's chain a little.

8) CANON, BITCHES. KORRASAMI WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

FAPFAPFAPFAPFAP!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I'm feeling pretty out of place here since mostly everyone here thinks s1 was better than s2. It was just a lot more fun to watch with everyone doing their own thing and I enjoyed the characters even though they all had a single tracked mind. Anyway this is how I feel about the series S3>S4=S2>S1

As for the actual finale... Eh it was ok.  The action looked cool, but Kuvira was just a weak villain.  She's just a fairly skilled metal bender.  Korra should have been able to take her out easily.  Giant Robots are fun and all, but it just didn't seem too practical.  Korra relating to Kuvira just seemed forced.  Kuvira went so far beyond, "just trying to protect her people" that it was riduculous.

Ultimately, it just seemed like another season finale.  It was OK but it wasn't like, the culmination of the whole series.  It didn't feel any grander than the endings to season 1, 2, or 3.

What DID need resolving was Korra figuring out what it meant to be the Avatar, and I really didn't feel that.  I guess you could say her job is now to make the world safe for democracy after sort of rejecting communism (Amon), theocracy (Unlaq), anarchy (Zahir), and military dictatorship (Kuvira), but they needed to expand on that.

I'm fine with Korra being with Asami, but the build wasn't there.  They were obviously close, but nothing about their relationship seemed sexual.  Yeah, she wrote to Asami and not the others, but that could just mean she's more comfortable talking with a girl her age rather than an ex or a goofball.  Yeah, she blushed when Asami complimented her, but a lot of people get embarassed about compliments.  The avatar world has a lot of close same gendered friendships (Mai and Ty Lee for instance) and none of them have been hinted to be sexual.

They really needed to do a better job establishing this relationship as something beyond friendship.  A scene with Korra comforting Asami after her father's death?  The two expressing more concern over each other's safety prior to the final battle?  I dunno, something.

And Korrasami was frankly unnecessary.  TLA ended with a kiss, but it made sense.  The relationship between Aang and Katara was prevelant throughout the whole series.  It was basically the reason why Aang was fighting rather than being the reluctant Avatar he was.  The arc had to be resolved.  Korra's lovelife was put on the backburner since the end of season 2 or so.  There wasn't a big unresolved romance arc that really needed resolving.
