I certainly said I did NOT call you a fanboy a second time. I was told not to do that.

You wrote 7 (SEVEN!) paragraphs on how someone is led to believe they are saving $140 dollars, but really saving nothing with a $70 dollar gift card. Think about that for a moment.

I say you are basically saving $70 dollars with the purchase, as you can use that money to spend on other items.
(That's it. One sentence. It's NOT THAT COMPLICATED.)

You also completely shut down my argument initially by saying "No it doesn't depend on the customer." No, "I could see how you see it that way", or "Some people might view it like that", just a straight "nope, you're wrong." You started all this, not me.

First, you really really need to calm down.  Second, you asked me to explain how I got to $140 so I did.  My apologizes that it took me seven paragraphs for me to explain the scenario when in the end, you still didn't understand it.  I guess I should have written a novel for you next time.

Second, I never once told you that you are wrong.  I even said that you got part of it correct in my long winded (SEVEN!!) paragraph post.  Me saying "well you got part of correct" means "nope, you're wrong" in your eyes.  Got it...

Well then let me rephrase:
It does depend on the consumer.  Those that get tricked by the retailer and those who don't.  Better?

This is ridiculous. Why do stores have sales at all if not to get you in the building and buying other things? Am I to believe that cigarettes actually cost me 15 dollars because the retailer makes me buy additional goods. That is insane.

In fact, the whole premise is ridiculous. I don't know where you came up with it. It's a bundle with 3 free games and 70$ worth of anything else you want from the store. You can even give the giftcard as a present. It's value on top of value. Slow it down.

The goal of this thread was to let people know there was a good deal for an XBOX One if people wanted to buy one. I was going to make another one on Nintendo ones, but I think I'll lay off the controversial topics for now... I (no sarcasm) seriously should have known better.

I would say I stand by my fanboy comments, but since I was given a warning...

I would never feel like I saved 140 bucks from a 70 dollar gift card.  I have no idea who would feel like that.  You're trying to make this overly complicated for reasons that only you know.

WOW!  So yet again you are calling me a fanboy?  You are so classy epicurean...

I am trying to have an intellectual conversation and this is what I get in return?  Why did I waste my time explaining that to you if you still chalk it up as fanboyism?  I mean seriously...

I am also sorry that this is so "overly complicated" for you to understand.  Have a good day.

Intellectual conversation ?????

Giving a non-cash gift or award to an employee

An employer can give an employee an unlimited number of non-cash gifts and awards in the course of a calendar year without incurring a taxable benefit, provided the cumulative value of those gifts and awards does not exceed $500.00. This applies to non-cash gifts given for a special occasion, such as a religious holiday, birthday, wedding, or the birth of a child; and non-cash awards given as recognition of an employee’s overall contribution to the workplace, and not as recognition of job performance.  Where the cumulative value of gifts and awards received by an employee exceeds $500 in a calendar year, the excess amount will be treated as a taxable benefit.

The gift card would be concidered near cash and has a 70$ value. The $350 was spent on a Xbox One and 70$ gift card. Gift card value is $70, therefore the Xbox one value is $280.

Both of you drop this issue and get back to OP topic.

This deal officially make the Xbox one at $280 cheaper then a WiiU Deluxe ($299).

What's Nintendo doing for crying out loud.... for every system sold they will sell 5-7 software made by Nintendo .....
They should be even more desperate then Microsoft. Some moron at Nintendo probably thought Amiibo was going to save the system.

Hey, why argue with Microsoft's logic, they're selling XBones!

So you're basically still saying anyone that thinks they are saving $70 are too stupid to understand they aren't?

The reason I originally called you the dreaded "F" word was because the other possibility (the fact that someone actually believes they are saving no money) seemed too crazy to be true, and that you were just trying to spin it for your own cause.  I apologize for giving you the benefit of the doubt on that one.

A novel would not help.  What I'm trying to say is that if it takes 7 paragraphs to explain something as simple as a gift card, you're probably overthinking it.  You are certainly entitled to your opinion, it's just not one that I believe to be correct (as most would agree).

If you can't comment on the points he is making without attempting to lump other ficticious people in with your own personal opinion then you have no point to make. Also if you are warned not to call people a fanboy, following it up with something on the lines of... I'd call you a fanboy but I've been told not to is still calling them it, or can you not see that?

I wouldn't call this type of thread controversial btw... not even close.

Indeed what was being outsold 2 to 1 by the ps4 is now back neck and neck for the most important time of the year, absolutely amazing job by Microsoft pulling this gen back with agressive sales rather than letting it linger into nothingness like it could well have with its poor start.

Um...many other people on the thread have said getting a 70 dollar gift card is as good as cash to them.  I'm...not sure what point you're tryingto make.

The thread is not controversial.  That was sarcasm.

I also find it rather odd that it is ok to call people stupid, but if you call someone a fanboy you are akin to a demon or something.  That is something I sincerly did not know.  I will be more careful in the future.

Target has a deal for a Wii U for 250 dollars right now.  No gift card in that amount either!  (I'd actually like to get one, but I already have the other 2, so I'm not sure...)
