Am i the only one that looks at this as if the retailers are just dumping X1 stock any way they can knowing damn well it will sale nothing for much of the year.

I in no way, shape, or form was trying to spin anything other than people can get an XBOX One for around 280 bucks at Target.  There was no ill will intended.  If I didn't already have one, I'd jump on it.

Obviously it depends on the customer.  I shop at Target all the time, for groceries, toys (kids), clothes, whatever.  It's as good as money to me.  However, if you're someone who has to go out of their way to go there, then, yeah, not such a great deal.

No it doesn't depend on the customer.  If you truly think that you are getting this console for $280 dollars then you also think that you are saving $140 and not just a $70 gift card to Target.

WOW, I'm just going to wait another year until the thing is $40 and includes all Xbone games with it. At this rate...

I can only shake my head at the amount of fanboyism it must take to think that someone posting a good deal about how to get a console is somehow a spin to make that console look bad.  

Also, your comparison makes literally no sense.  It costs 350 dollars and you get 70 bucks to spend on whatever you want at target.  If you shop there a lot, its the exact same as getting 70 dollars cash.  I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

Quit being an extreme fanboy and just try and promote the fact that people can get a good console for cheap.

Wow, thanks for being classy and calling me a fanboy.  At what point did I ever mention anything about XB1, PS4, or Wii U in my post.  What does this have ANYTHING to do with me downplaying the XB1 and this deal? 

I am just saying that it is absolutely foolish to think that you are only spending $280 on a $350 product.  Let me ask you this question:

Why dont they just make it $280 dollars and exclude the $70 dollar gift card?  Hmmm?  

Because it guarantees more revenue for them.  Tell me how in my example that its not as good as cash for me?  And what the hell is the 140 bucks about?

Because it means that 70$ has to be spent there, or you can just sell it on ebay for 70$.

It's christmas, you have gifts to buy. You had 350$ so you just bought an x1, but now you have 70$ worth of gift card to buy other gifts. Simple mathematics says that you paid less than 350$, otherwise you would only have the console.
