You buy the game and their products cause u want to play their games... Not cause club Nintendo forces you to... I never thought to myself, gee, you know why I want to buy mk8, its cause I want that mk8 t-shirt from club Nintendo... Nintendo isn't charging u anything and Nintendo didn't need to have this service anyway, its a bonus for buying their games that doesn't come with a yearly fee. If you don't like it, well guess what, you didn't buy your game cause of it and people aren't "loyal" to Nintendo cause of their club nintendo awards

Well, there's a point here... one of the big reasons why I got Mario Kart 8 was because I was getting 2 games with it, so in this case Club Nintendo did play a big part in making my decision.

Well... If they didn't... Wouldn't you still buy it cause I am pretty sure most people would

I won't buy Mario Maker. If Nintendo announces that they will be handing out a free game if you buy Mario Maker then I will buy Mario Maker. day one.

Just an example, I'm not claiming Mario Maker needs such an action to sell incredibly well.

I would have club nintendo be like a storefront of the eshops and you could change your coins for any game

I probably would have, but when they announced the free game thing is when I made my definitive decision.

Yea but thats the thing... People get Nintendo games for Nintendo games, not cause of Club Nintendo awards

Well, thats ur choice but say that if the next Metroid game comes out from Nintendo and its the best metroid game to date... Wouldn't you buy it? Cause I am sure most people would

Actually most people wouldn't. That's the reason why we haven't seen a real Metroid game since 2007. Metroid is definitely a franchise that could benefit from such a deal. Nintendo should only include games in such actions that have already profited a lot. That way Nintendo doesn't lose too much potential money.

Nintendo games aren't really selling that well. DKC: TF is being outpaced by Bayonetta 2...

I love Nintendo games, but Nintendo has never heard of "the customer is king" line. What I do respect a lot is that they always release polished games. And that's why they're still my #1 game developer/publisher.

Well... To me, most people that are whining about a free service just seem pretty entitled cause its a free bonus with no additonal charge. I mean, for people to want more free stuff on top of the free stuff just screams entitlement

Gee, I wonder how much other companies have heard of the "customer is king" line, what with having to pay for online multiplayer on PS4 and Xbox One, the huge dick move Microsoft was making with the DRM (yeah they cut it back, but still), and that's not mentioning third-parties like EA or Ubisoft releasing broken games with day one patches and DLCs that should have been included in the final product, which by the time of release wasn't even a "final" product either.

Come on, seriously? Nintendo games are always very well polished and ready at the time of release, barely ever have glaring glitches or anything, they rarely have DLC and when they do it's usually very good, they have a good online service they don't charge anything for, they give you free games with Club Nintendo (ok, not you specifically in this case, but still), etc etc and THEY never heard of the "customer is king" line? Please.

I'd gladly pay for online if I got as many free games as PS owners get. There's a reason why Sony is number one and Nintendo dead last. Most of Sony's first party games are polished as well. So what's your point?

I've tended to like the transition to free digital games, although i'm going to miss my calendar next year.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It would be fine for me if the digital rewards were better.

Except it's not free stuff, you need to buy games first. Marketing 101: companies lure you with seemingly sweet deals, but in the end the company ends up profiting more then they would have without the deals.

I don't care about entitlement.
