Forums - Gaming Discussion - Lords of the Fallen sales on VGC have to be way off (sequel in the works)

Apparantely the sales were good enough that the team has started to work on a sequel and VGC has the game at 0.26m on all PS4, X1 and PC.  This is by no means a ugly game or anything, the game looks really good and seems like it took a lot of effort.  Or am I wrong and can a game like this really be worth it after only 0.26m copies sold?

I was surprised too after looking at the numbers. They are too low, especially if the developer is making a 2nd one.

It probably got a tonne of digital sales from the PC version. That does seem to be the version that got the most attention after all.

Besides that, it is a much lower budget game than the standard AAA, so it wouldn't have needed anywhere near as much to make a profit. I wouldn't be surprised 1m sales was more than enough for profits and considering the amount it most likely sold digitally it may well have surpassed 1m.

What do you mean the PC version got the most attention?

Well they did say that they only needed to ship 500k(budget was £7.8million) to earn back all there money. And as of 7th November they had shipped 700k but only sold 200k to consumers. So with taking digital to account I don't think the retail numbers are to far away from 260k.
