Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA replied to a fan petition to remove Anita Sarkeesian from Mirror’s Edge 2

How do you feel about this news?

I feel great, fuck Anita and her ideas! 30 56.60%

I don't care. 18 33.96%

I feel very upset, I want... 5 9.43%

Total:53

Ha ha ha ha ha!! Some gamers are so shit scared of Anita Sarkeesian that they will panic at the mere rumour of her involvement in a game, and start or sign a petition against it. I love it, such a laugh.

So.... there was nothing to even make a petition about in the 1st place?

Basically

But I can't say I'm sad she's not working there. I think I speak for most of us when I say all I care about is how good the game is

1080p, 60 fps, really tight controls, really good level design.

Don't hugely care what they do with Faith, other than not making her good with guns

Take it as an insurance that Miss Sarkeesian will now have an even harder time to  get a foot into the gaming industry.

Would love a Faith who is so bad with guns that she's starting to drop them after the first shot^^

Oh wait, would that be misogynistic because it perpetuates the stereotype of girls being bad with guns? Oh boy, I better check my privilege.

So you think a petition always means fear and not dislike?  That seems ... odd.

On topic, I never believed it to begin with.  I never saw a source and it seems like a PR nightmare.  Intel just stepped AWAY from that situation; why would EA look for controversy?  Makes no sense.  I'm pretty sure there was a trolling involved somewhere.

I think the system where you could only hold one clip worked quite well. I did admitedly never fire a gun, other than one incident on my hard playthrough

What a relief!!! Faith is an awesome character and a strong female character. She doesn't need Anita or any other feminist input on her development.

One guy created a thread with this petition here, and I posted multiple times asking him (or anyone else) for a credible source for this information, since Google didn't show me anything.

I was completely ignored. Again, a simple google search would reveal this "news" didn't exist. It was pretty ridiculous.

It's good study for people to see how the internet works.
