That's almost as stupid does not bringing Pokémon to the wii u because Pokémon is somehow and exclusively "portable" experience.

Almost.

Please pray tell why.

It's almost as stupid, or what it is stupid at all, and regarding Pokémon, or regarding Mario?

For the point of the thread and OP, regarding Mario.

I am agreeing with you, by the way. Not having on my multiplayer in the Mario games is almost as stupid as keeping Pokémon on handhelds.

While I would hate online for these types of games, I agree it should be an option.

Ah okay. The way your your comment was worded confused me for some reason.

I don't know if SM3DW is really suitable for online MP... I would ignore it for sure.

Is there any 2D/3D Plataform that does online plataforming MP well? Some of the best of this year don't have it: Shovel Knight, DK:TF, Azure Striker Gunvolt, Shantae. Maybe Ratchet & Clank, but that had much less plataforming. Maybe LPB? Never tryed the online there.

That's not a genre you can lag without turning the experience into frustration.

Guys, when we support online multiplayer on Mario, we're not talking about "playing with strangers". We're talking playing with actual friends. Yes, because it's not always that you live close to your friends, or have the time to all gather in the same house or something, so online comes in handy. Best example: LittleBigPlanet. I've beaten both games both in couch co-op and in online with friends, and it was fun both ways.

Not adding the option for online is just weird.

Actually, that's my opinion, I can't talk for everyone... so scratch that "we" at the beginning.

Are you quoting me because my entire post was about playing with friends online with the exception of the final line.

Mario games have a special type of coop where really you only hinder the other players and get in the way.

And that's fine, as it'd only be an option!

LittleBigPlanet does and it works fine for the most part. Regardless I don't think what other platformers do is a valid excuse.

The lag isn't any better in a fighter like Smash Bros., infact it's worse in those games as they generally have more going on at any given time requiring constant player input.

Nintendo needs to get with it next gen. But seriously, I doubt 3D World would have sold substantially better if there was online mp. I mean, if you buy a game specifically for online mp, you've missed the point of the game entirely. Then again, there are those who don't have friends to play with...there's always 2 sides ain't it.
