Reminder that Rayman Legends doesn't support online multiplayer.

But picking on Nintendo is the cool thing to do so carry on. Although I was under the impression that picking on Ubisoft was also cool, maybe people think that's been played out already.

It's not picking, it's valid criticism. Show me where on my OP that I "picked" on Nintendo.

Calling developers lazy and stubborn for making games that don't 100% match your ideal vision of what they should be according to your personal preferences is not and has never been valid criticism. Furthermore, singling out Nintendo when other companies that make multiplayer 2D platformers make the same design choices is picking on them.

Trolls.

That is the reason I would never play online. Too many people would just play online and fuck others up. Its way to easy to screw other people in mario games on multiplayer. Now imagin everygame you go online you meet some prick who the whole time tries to kill you.

So have online, or don't. I would never play it.

Nope.

Come to think of it, what platformers do have online multiplayer?

Guys, when we support online multiplayer on Mario, we're not talking about "playing with strangers". We're talking playing with actual friends. Yes, because it's not always that you live close to your friends, or have the time to all gather in the same house or something, so online comes in handy. Best example: LittleBigPlanet. I've beaten both games both in couch co-op and in online with friends, and it was fun both ways.

Not adding the option for online is just weird.

Actually, that's my opinion, I can't talk for everyone... so scratch that "we" at the beginning.

LBP is the only one I'm aware of. But that and Rayman are the only non-Nintendo 2D multiplayer platformers that come to mind aside from indies. The genre's heyday was long past by the time multiplayer became a major feature of it.

That's almost as stupid does not bringing Pokémon to the wii u because Pokémon is somehow and exclusively "portable" experience.

Almost.

Okay you're right. I probably shouldn't have called them names. But the developers do seem less ambitious for excluding reasonable options that would most likely entertain their fans. I think it's fair to call them stubborn as well given Miyamoto's stance on online gaming.

I also forgot that other 2D multiplayer games exist like Rayman but given how little they sale or are advertised compared to Mario or Little Big Planet, I think it's understandable.

I personally feel most platformers work best with local co-op, but sure I guess they might as well add online for those that don't have anyone else to play with.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.
