A good sniper knows how to lay low until the right moment. That's exactly what publisher/developer City Interactive (also known as CI Games) is doing for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, which is the series' debut on the new systems. The company is taking its time with the game, and it's slated for a release in the first half of 2016.

Despite its seemingly far-off release date, City has already teased some game details: It's set in modern-day Eastern Europe, with the titular character in the middle of a conflict between three factions.

Perhaps responding to criticism from gamers such as Tim Turi regarding Ghost Warrior 2's excessive hand-holding, the upcoming Sniper title promises more freedom in how you go about your missions, stressing non-linear play. Taking a guess by looking at the game's first art (above), it looks like you'll have the help of a combat drone to complete your objectives.

In the hopes of completing its own goal of a successful title, City Interactive says it has hired Steve Hart, former producer of rival Sniper Elite V2 – a game that Tim at least, enjoyed much more.
