Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Pictures Hack Threat Elevates to National Security Threat Against MovieGoers

This is absolute horseshit. I cannot believe that some of the biggest movie theater chains in America are not showing this movie. I honestly cannot believe that we are giving in to this fucking hack. At first, we laughed at the fact that the leader of North Korea was upset by the making of this film. "We're America and we can do whatever the fuck we want!" And now look at us. We're cowering in a Goddamn corner one week before the movie is released. Way to stick to our fucking guns. God, this is infuriating.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Sounds like fun. Time to invade North Korea?

Sure... If you want World War III!

Will be quite a short war if we manage to distract China long enough.

Yeah, people don't realize that the reason the movie theaters pulled out is because of what happened at the Dark Knight Rises premier. The theaters aren't going to ignore threats of mass murder.

"Regardless of who did it, this breach feels much different than anything I've seen before," said David Kennedy, founder of the information-security firm TrustedSec. "This attack was designed to go after a company on multiple fronts and try to tank it. It's a precedent-setting breach in that this was done to try to destroy Sony."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The hackers who launched a cyberattack on Sony Pictures praised the company's decision to cancel the release of "The Interview" and said its data will be secure if they continue to comply, CNN reported on Friday, quoting the message.

"It's very wise that you have made a decision to cancel the release of 'The Interview,'" the message said, according to CNN. "We ensure the security of your data unless you make additional trouble."

Guess I was right.
