how the Titan has fallen :P

I wish I had made a thread predicting this back in Feb this year! I never actually though of these 2 games up against eachother in terms of sales but with the hype many including me though Titanfall was the new gears. Obviously didn't happen but not being on the PS4 really damaged it.

Well...TLOUR was bundled pretty heavily this holiday. If MS bundled Titanfall instead of AC Unity for $349 then I think Titanfall would sell more than TLOUR lifetime.

The Last of Us. Online shooter games typically only sell well for a short time until the next one is released. TLOU is a game that will sell for many, many years on the PS4. Plus Titanfall can be played on 360 and PC. So yeah.

TLOU can be played on the PS3 and is almost a 2 year old game.

But the "Remastered" version can't (the general public will view this version as a far superior game, so they'll want it more). The age of TLOU is almost irrelevant in this scenario. Like I said, it's a game that will sell for a long time because it's a well-known and highly acclaimed exclusive, primarily known for its story. People in a year (or even now) most likely won't care about Titanfall because there are newer, better online shooters out. Just my two cents.

Titanfall was bundle heavily too plus the game was given away for free the month of release. It has seen a fire sale this November too. I think TLOU beating this can't be put down to bundles for one but not the other. In fact it's a very even fight and it's incredible that TLOU is taking the lead.

Titanfall is averaging around 3 - 5 k playing online at any time. Dismal numbers of an online only game. For some reason word of mouth has completely died on this game, despite it being the best FPS game released this year. Nothing will cause the sales to bounce back.

MS missed an opportunity to include this game in its holiday bundle line up. Respawn just jack all in the content updates etc.

TF will be lucky to reach 2.5 mil. TLOU should reach 4 million.

The game will end up on EA Access eventually.

Yeah but bundles in the holidays sell much much more than any other time of the year.

Also PS4 has an install base almost double the size of X1's. But I agree that it is very impressive that TLOUR is selling this well.

The thread is which will sell more. Not which will have a better ratio.

The Last of Us bundle is only out a week and it's already past Titanfall. More copies of Titanfall have been sold via bundle so far. The TLOUR bundle if resupplied will obviously help it win by an even bigger margin. But the fact remains Titanfall got beat as of today and it's been bundled more, given away in free game deals more and sold at a much lower price for November.

It's amazing it beat it already and not many would have seen that coming. But that's the power of the PS4 and TLOU for ya.
