Which will sell more globally lifetime?

The Last of Us Remastered PS4 424 82.17%

Titanfall Xbox1 74 14.34%

Tie 18 3.49%

Games with multiplayer-focus are usually front-loaded: to get the most fun out of them, you have to play them as long as they are popular (many other players, fast matchmaking...)

Story-driven games with a great single player campaign you can enjoy whenever you want. A successor will have a different story, so it doesn't replace the old game.

Sport games with no story at all are replaced by their successors (unless they fuck up the successor's game mechanic).

So many will buy TLoU on a sale next year or in 2 - 4 years to have the single-player experience, but very few will play Titanfall 1 again when multiplayer fans have moved on to Titanfall 2 (or a similar game with big marketing budget). "Nobody" will buy FIFA 13 in 2015/2016 instead of the new version.

TLoU. The man focus of the game is the SP, which titanfall lacks. It helps it keep selling so long as the game (and ND) stay relevant, . While titanfall has the better MP (although i prefer a slower paced MP) that MP community will only last so long with so many others FPS in the market.

TLoU will sell 4m+ on PS4. 12-13m+ when combined.
Titanfall will be lucky to reach 3m

Considering the pedigree and the fact that Titanfall has already been out longer, I will have to go with TLOU. I am actually rather surprised that EA Access hasn't inducted this game into their collection yet. I think they will have another huge discount on the title, perhaps in Feb. but then shift it to Access around BF: Hardline in March at which point the sales will collapse for good. Sony will discount it on final time and by June it will either get a PSN fire sale before landing in PS+ for free. Also, TLOU is on a platform with a bigger base. Its just makes sense that it winds up on top, even at a lower tie ratio.

if those numbers are indeed correct. TLoU easy. on online only game with no one online won't have the legs of a single player game.

The game of last generation vs the game of this generation! Which one will be remembered in a couple of years..

One of them has already been forgotten.

Had you asked this question in March people would've thought you're crazy for even thinking that TLOU:R could outsell the mighty Titanfall, the game with the biggest hype ever, most awards a game had ever gotten at E3 and Gamescom, the game that would single handidly save the X1...and now it looks like TLOU:R will pretty much outsell it without much of a doubt. Funny how that goes.

For how much people were treating this like a huge game changer the impact it eventually made has been ridiculously miniscule.

The last of us. People should never bet against this game.

But seems like TLOUR will come out on top.

TLOU. It's the better received game and has broad appeal.
