for the average chinese that's a lot, but the top 15-10% should easily have that kind of money and in a nation of 1.3billion that's well over 100m people
still console games are a niche and will likely stay that way, but consoles might sell about as well as in a medium sized european market

Even with the pricecut the XBO is still more expensive than what the PS4 will cost, as it now costs 3,199 RMB without Kinect. And expectations are that PS4 will sell more as chinese gamers favour it.
The imported one (unofficial product) already available on every corner before it was officially released and also the imported Xbox One is cheaper and region free unlike the official one.
Maybe some piracy will help the console sales if they able to jailbreak the system.
Well PS4 will have the same problem there when it release, but the sales will be bigger then the Xbox One, PS brand actually bigger in Asia then Xbox.
Makes sense, it was overpriced to start with...

Far from it, for all you know China will be just like much of Europe where PS4 out sales Xbox 10-1. All we know now is the Chinese dont overly care about xbox, which would be inline with majority of the world.
Chinease are incredably brand specific and image concious, xbxo is a weak brand they will not gravatiate towards it. Whiel PS is the leder of its market, id bet you right now PS4 will be a far bigger success there then xbox based on that alone.

True they might, but PS4 sales will still be higehr then xbox there. Its a weak brand in a brand concious market.
The only reason this is a story is because of that ridiculous hype before the Xbox One China release.
Lots of MS fans were made foolish by that, and now it seems like some Sony fans are falling into the same trap with the PS4 release. Just walk away people, nothing exciting will come from China anytime soon.

Is the PS4 confirmed to have the same restrictions the X1 has? ie. region locking and no used games.
